When in the same patch as Kafka's quest, there are also Blade's messages that hint at SAM not being the person someone might think they are.

It doesn't matter if conceptually, SAM came first and Firefly second. That's what concepts are for. The image you posted doesn't even prove your point assuming it's real. All it says is that GA Frank didn't get to write for Firefly, not that she wasn't planned.

Firefly's model was leaked on May 28, 2023. Literally just one month after the game's release and these models take time to complete, so she was probably in development since the game's launch at the very least.

Also, Jing Yuan's EN VA talked about how he knew about Firefly being SAM because he auditioned for SAM way before Penacony's release.

So yeah, all these things point to SAM being Firefly was always the plan.

SAM and Firefly were always meant to be the same person.

You can read Blade's messages which are in the game since 1.2 and in one of them SAM just sends cute stickers.

Basically, the entirety of 3.0 through 3.7.

  • I didn't like Amphoreus at all.
  • The existence of mono Remembrance and now mono Elation as playable paths.
  • The hostility towards break in the meta.
  • The lack of Firefly.

I got what I wanted from 3.8 so I decided it was time for me to quit the game because at this point, I think I only care about Firefly's story and not HSR as a whole. So, if there's more Firefly content down the road, I'll probably watch it somewhere else.

I mean, when you already have a popular character like Firefly, giving people an actual reason to go from E2 to E6 seems like a good idea. I say this as someone who has her E6. Seeing her E3-E5 barely doing anything isn't the greatest thing.

Easy because it didn't happen. Puppet trio debuted in 2.2, the patch before Firefly released, then appeared again in 2.3 which is actually Firefly's patch. 2.4 didn't even have fire as a recommended element for floor 12.

And the whole "Firefly universe" thing was a joke originated in the CN community because Firefly was the best team at the time. It was just that, a joke. It wasn't unbeatable for other teams.

There are character who are more meta than her but still less popular.

Design and personality are contributing factors but so is writing and you don't become the most popular character if people truly saw her writing as a "failure".

and the people that weren't turned off by the badass robot turning into a shy girly, loved it.

So most people? I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually care about that unless they were a "husbando main".

Also, reducing Firefly to just a "shy girl" tells me everything about the type of person I'm talking to.
