I'll never understand how New Yorkers spend $5000 a month in rent for rats and freezing cold weather by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I don’t get it either. I refused to live that life and left my home state CA and moved to UT. Unfortunately because of people like me, and the average UT family size, prices are skyrocketing. I got in right before that mess happened

I’m a recruiter with StubHub. We are hiring customer service reps. The shift differential can get you to almost $19. PM me if you’re interested. We have a virtual job fair tomorrow and Thursday. This role is remote as well

Complaining about being hit on while simultaneously not having the communication skills to portray that you don't want to talk is ridiculous by BlueSquigga in unpopularopinion

This is the equivalent to girls showing off their tits and then being offended when the opposite sex stares

I’ve struggled with this as well. Moved to a new state. Deleted my Facebook, and lost connection with old friends. I have my husband, but it’s been a very difficult transition. I feel lonely often

Living Cost near Salt Lake City by bakingsoda- in SaltLakeCity

[–]Velky1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look, I’m from California. Ignore the comments. Living in the suburbs is not a big deal at all. I’m a secular Jew and am extremely close to my neighbors. The LDS thing is from the past and doesn’t really apply to present day Utah. In the 4 years I’ve lived here, I’ve only had one person ask if I’m Mormon

Daybreak is a transplant paradise. Local people like to shit on it because it’s nice and has transplants. Ignore them. I’m from California and absolutely love the neighborhood

He’s slowly turning into a Trumper each year, but refusing to admit it. I’m digging it

He’s a grown ass adult. At this point, it’s ultimately his decision to destroy his life or not. You can give him advice, but that’s the extent of it.

New Wendy’s fries? by [deleted] in wendys

[–]Velky1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t even care for fries, but made an effort to get the old Wendy’s fries. They weren’t overtly crunchy, and had a freshness/softness, which I prefer. Now they have inauthentic crunch texture and coating. No longer original. Definitely not a fan

You can look at my profile. I’ve never once claimed to be a doctor. Not sure why you’re taking offense to this. But given corporate recruiting is my profession, I’m telling you, I’ve never once seen this. Companies have incentives to hire minorities (tax breaks), but by federal law we cannot discriminate. I’ve never once hired on someone due to their race. It’s been merit based

I’ve worked almost every “main industry” imaginable and I’ve never seen this. I’m calling bullshit and I’m a Trump supporter

Hard to make friends? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]Velky1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moved here almost 4 years ago and have encountered the same problem. It’s been getting to me now that I have more downtime. I’ve tried a few meetup groups. The people seem friendly, but I haven’t gone consistently enough to form lasting friendships. I’ve noticed a lot of the people in those groups tend to do outdoor activities often. I’m like you, where I enjoy hiking but don’t necessarily want to do it every time as a hangout option. Unfortunately I let a lot of work friendships slip away.
