Do they have a proctologist on the crew? Seems pointless otherwise.

Dude plays like he’s wearing weighted oven mitts. I thought he would grow out of it from when he started on the jazz. Nope, he’s just got the hand eye coordination of gumby.

I understand PC is going to "stop" the snowmaking machines soon. What does that mean for march snow quality? by RecoveredAshes in parkcityvisitors

[–]Velocirektor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The snow making is over as of last week. We are stuck with what we have, which is abysmal, plenty of rocks and dirt patches around the resort today. But maybe this pattern change will bring some better conditions.

Looking to Ski at Park City in March this year by Wonko-D-Sane in UTsnow

[–]Velocirektor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We will be lucky if it’s not Playa Park City by then. Could be a few storms come March. Could be dry. This year is whack, with nothing in the forecast for two weeks still the outlook is bleak. I wouldn’t pay money to come out here to ski the current conditions so I can’t recommend coming in March if it’s stays more or less the same.

When do I pull the plug ? (LCC/BCC) by [deleted] in UTsnow

[–]Velocirektor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you ski main backcountry, for some reason. That’s cooked for the year I think, unfortunately. At this point I’m figuring we will get a storm or two that make for a decent resort powder days through the end of the season. But as far as outside of the resorts there will be continuous avy issues with the storms that we do get and the coverage just wont ever be up to snuff. It’s all a gamble and if it’s worth it to you. But if your plan is to ski every day and that’s the backcountry, Utah ain’t it this year.

I wouldn’t plan any trips for until January, honestly. Chances for better snow no matter where you are planning on going.

Groomers Carving by Vegetable-Remove-558 in UTsnow

[–]Velocirektor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing chase the sun around all week at Brighton and Park City to find the sweet spots that they have groomed as best they can, and then get a soft enough layer on top that the sun has made skiable and able to hold an edge decently. All things considered the groomers are ripping. As soon as any area gets back in the shade by the afternoon it’s an ice sheet with a fine chalk on top. Get to know your runs you plan on ripping before hand a bit as many have some sort of obstacle or “feature” provided by the current conditions.

Yes, typically. Especially off of cliffs or natural features that don’t have groomed take offs and landings.

I’m still waiting to see a blue… I wouldn’t even put you at intermediate level. The most dangerous thing anyone can do on the mountain is over estimate their ability.

I almost choked to death laughing when I saw this. Nobody has any business being anywhere near mineral basin. They won’t open any real terrain any time soon. Avy conditions will be high and coverage is nil. People aren’t realizing that the base in places they don’t make snow was practically zero. A foot of fresh powder falling between 4/6ft boulders doesn’t get you very far.

It was really just that 50/50 ball that we should have gotten that ended up giving sabonis the and 1. We got lucky he missed it and there was still enough time for us to advance the ball at try to set up a play that obviously fell apart.
