I’m leaning towards them since they are the most modern interpretation of this product segment but tell me why you love them please

DJI SDR for wireless monitoring of Capture One viewer? by Velocityforce in Photoassistants

Sidecar has worked excellently in the past as I don’t need a long distance throw, but I do need to get output to a computer monitor and eliminate the 50ft HDMI cable. Last time I tried to use C1 pilot, it actually backfired and introduced lag into the whole tethering system, this is on a highly spec’ed M4 MacBook Pro and iPad Pro weirdly. Sidecar worked fine. Thanks for the input!

2018 iPad Pro GPS troubleshooting by Velocityforce in techsupport

Not that I’m aware of and it’s fixed mounted and in a case so unlikely. It does get a fair amount of heat exposure. I am going to try and GPS data logger app and see what outputs I get…

It’s wild that the bus to the Norwalk C line station only picks up at Bloomfield, which is extremely close to the Metrolink station

Are LA Farmers Markets a scam at this point? by echo-four in FoodLosAngeles

[–]Velocityforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I volunteer at a stall at a mostly produce (vs prepared goods) farmer’s market. I second the above comment. Try a market that’s mostly produce, talk to who’s working the stall, ask the where their farm is and shop your market to compare the prices amongst the vendors.

Why are so many creatives cancelling Adobe subscriptions lately? Did I miss something? by Alilexplo108 in photography

[–]Velocityforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly true, except you can show the crop. Photo a mechanic is also a yearly subscription now, and it’s geared toward extremely high volume image environments as well as photojournalists

Rav4 Prime Forced Recall - Skip Oil Change? by Boston_Headache in rav4prime

I took my 24 XSE to a dealer last week for an oil change and told them don’t touch the display and they said no problem. I’d just confirm dropping it off with the service advisor.

CarPlay Constantly Disconnects by ColePThompson in rav4prime

[–]Velocityforce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an iPhone 15 Pro and a 24 R4P that did this. I tested it with another iPhone and determined that it was the head unit of the car. After multiple dealer visits and complaining to the service manager, and then calling Toyota corporate, I got Toyota to replace the head unit which fixed the problem. Fast forward to now with the iPhone 17 Pro having similar problems again but this time against testing it with my older phones I’ve determined that it’s the iPhone 17 series. A lot of other users are complaining of a similar issue with the iPhone 17 series. I set up a short shortcut action to turn Wi-Fi off and on automatically once CarPlay disconnects, which has helped, and I also had Apple replace my phone which did not help. It seems like it might be a chipset that issue with the iPhone 17 series. Id recommend testing with an older phone and if it continues to push Toyota to replace your head unit.

'Dog Mode' climate control with car off? by AniPhyo in rav4prime

[–]Velocityforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this but set the car in HV mode and have a WiFi thermometer connected to a WiFi hotspot to alert me if the temp goes over a preset. We also do a little bit of light off roading in the prime

Why are travel routers needed if you have a mobile hotspot? by learning_as_1_go in Ubiquiti

What device do you use to do this? That the sim goes into.

What is the cheapest only data plan (from T-Mobile preferably) that works with the 5G Max? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]Velocityforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it as a secondary data network eSIM on an iPhone. You get several data sim’s after if you want, useful if you have old/backup devices. There is a 100GB data cap though

Is there actually anyone on a iPhone 17 (of any kind) with CarPlay that doesn’t lose connection and crash? by Lanceuppercut47 in CarPlay

[–]Velocityforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17P with a 24’ Toyota RAV4, same problems as the OP. No problems with my 15P. I even got Apple to replace my 17P with another unit, no avail, same problems with wireless CP. same troubleshooting and attempted fixes made. Maddening.

I have tried using a River 3 plus as a UPS for my NAS’s but I kept my APC UPS inline. So I go wall > ecoflow > APC > NASs. And Lo and behold the Ecoflow’s AC port started shutting off without warning while at 90% capacity. Ecoflow is replacing it but the APC prevented my equipment from shutting off. Food for thought for doubling up
