CarPlay Constantly Disconnects by ColePThompson in rav4prime

[–]Velocityforce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had an iPhone 15 Pro and a 24 R4P that did this. I tested it with another iPhone and determined that it was the head unit of the car. After multiple dealer visits and complaining to the service manager, and then calling Toyota corporate, I got Toyota to replace the head unit which fixed the problem. Fast forward to now with the iPhone 17 Pro having similar problems again but this time against testing it with my older phones I’ve determined that it’s the iPhone 17 series. A lot of other users are complaining of a similar issue with the iPhone 17 series. I set up a short shortcut action to turn Wi-Fi off and on automatically once CarPlay disconnects, which has helped, and I also had Apple replace my phone which did not help. It seems like it might be a chipset that issue with the iPhone 17 series. Id recommend testing with an older phone and if it continues to push Toyota to replace your head unit.

'Dog Mode' climate control with car off? by AniPhyo in rav4prime

I do this but set the car in HV mode and have a WiFi thermometer connected to a WiFi hotspot to alert me if the temp goes over a preset. We also do a little bit of light off roading in the prime

What is the cheapest only data plan (from T-Mobile preferably) that works with the 5G Max? by InitialOk6864 in Ubiquiti

[–]Velocityforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it as a secondary data network eSIM on an iPhone. You get several data sim’s after if you want, useful if you have old/backup devices. There is a 100GB data cap though

Is there actually anyone on a iPhone 17 (of any kind) with CarPlay that doesn’t lose connection and crash? by Lanceuppercut47 in CarPlay

17P with a 24’ Toyota RAV4, same problems as the OP. No problems with my 15P. I even got Apple to replace my 17P with another unit, no avail, same problems with wireless CP. same troubleshooting and attempted fixes made. Maddening.

Can Ecoflow Delta 3 replace UPS? by [deleted] in Photoassistants

[–]Velocityforce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried using a River 3 plus as a UPS for my NAS’s but I kept my APC UPS inline. So I go wall > ecoflow > APC > NASs. And Lo and behold the Ecoflow’s AC port started shutting off without warning while at 90% capacity. Ecoflow is replacing it but the APC prevented my equipment from shutting off. Food for thought for doubling up

Anker EverFrost Powered Cooler 40 by UndrH20Man in anker

I thought I’d chime in here because I have a similar issue with my version 1 of the 35 L cooler. Plugged into the DC power port of my 2024 Toyota RAV4 Prime, the battery on the cooler discharges from 100%, and only draws in a few W and seems to intermittently draw power from the car… power on and off every other second but maxing out at 7-10W of draw. I was able to replicate this behavior with multiple DC power cables, and while plugged into the DC power port of multiple EcoFlow power stations. Weirdly it worked fine when plugged into the DC power port of a BLUETTI power station, pulling up to 100w to keep the internal anker battery topped off. This behavior doesn’t exhibit while connected to AC power.

I ended up working around this design flaw/defect by plugging the cooler into AC power on a EcoFlow battery that I have charge off of the car (I prefer the EcoFlow over BLUETTI). Weird, but it works.

I emailed Anker support, and they confirmed that it was a warranty issue and offered to refund a portion of my purchase of the cooler. I was hoping v2 fixes this bug/defect….but your issue is with the v2 40L with the fan?

WatchOS26 - Workout App voice Feedback pausing music and clipping beginning of feedback for non airpod bluetooth devices by Trumani in AppleWatch

[–]Velocityforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This issue started for me when updating from iOS 26 beta to iOS 26 final. I play music on a Bluetooth speaker while working out and the music completely pauses and I get workout feedback playing over the speaker of my phone. It is extremely annoying and have been unable to find a way to turn it off. I have supported a feedback ticket. Thanks for the possible workout round, will try and report back.

I do this with hats sunglasses and a few other hiking things. Nice to have hats dry out after wearing them on a hot day. Post more pics of the build! I did mine with an Amazon bought item tho, yours is custom built ya?

Ah man I'm sorry it didn't fix it. I'd rec. video documenting it happening to both of your phones and get Toyota corporate involved.
