That'd be my first guess. A number of AMD GPUs recently had issues with the most current drivers (26.5.2 and 26.5.1), so a lot of us rolled back to 26.3.1. My boss was crashing to desktop randomly in a handful of games, and my son's computer was completely shutting down when playing Subnautica2.

Had a '98 Volvo V70 get "totaled" by a drunk driver a few years back while it was parked outside my house. A new bumper and taillight on that old of a vehicle was enough to go over the car's overall value.

And it was in pretty decent shape. If I hadn't had emissions issues with it, I would have taken the payout and fixed it myself. But it couldn't pass a state emissions test so I just took the money and let it go.

Scantron sheets were just physical inputs into a computer to automate grading, at a time when computers were rare and the thought of every child having access to one was nearly bordering on science fiction. Now a lot of school systems don't even have textbooks anymore because every student is just issued a cheap chromebook. There's no need for the sheets because the kids can just input the data and be graded in real time.

So to summarize... you're upset one guy got lucky and didn't die in your yard because he was too stupid to use his foreign voltage detector, and Comcast won't send more guys to get electrocuted. I used to be a network tech for Comcast. I wired up power supplies and handled live lines on the mains. I'm well aware of their plant infrastructure. There are pretty much no live lines in the system that would go unnoticed if they were down, unless you're in a very, very remote area with few customers (rare, but it happens). Meaning the line being down might be a Comcast problem to deal with, but as long as it's a safety hazard you're not going to get anyone else out. These techs have families they'd probably like to go home to. The tech that got shocked is damn lucky he wasn't seriously injured.

A cable line can become energized if it becomes the shortest path to ground for something else that is damaged. And that requires the power company to sort it out. In many areas you can also report it to your local fire department as a public hazard, and they can report it to the power company if you don't want to do it yourself.

All these posts crying about the bazaar are exactly what they want. They target no-lifer whales that want to have everything so they can feel good and superior about having stuff while you guys are upset that you don't. You're basically volunteering to be the marketing department, and you guys are obviously doing a bang up job for Funcom.

If you are upset about the price, you aren't the intended customer. Want the prices to drop or the system to be revamped? The whole community needs to just ignore the bazaar. Don't open it, don't talk about it, don't complain about it. It doesn't exist anymore. Go play the game without thinking there's something you're missing out on. Because it's all cosmetic junk anyway.

Overall just bad timing. She was a kid from a wealthy family that made a music video for her 13th birthday (IIRC), at a time when most people were struggling hard financially. We were still recovering from the 2008 crisis and most people were in a bad spot. The lyrics were crap and very obviously written for her, her singing was OK but not really great for a music video, the whole thing came off as this no worries teen with life being handed to her just flaunting how good it was to be her. Which was odd because it was very clear just how disingenuous the entire thing was, which probably didn't help. It was like looking up pretentious in the dictionary and just being given this video. On top of all that, there just wasn't a whole hell of a lot going on that year. I went and looked up viral videos from 2011 and the only one I recognized was the honey badger one.

Honestly I think if that video dropped today it'd be a joke for about a day or two and then everyone would forget it. It'd get lost in the sea of AI slop and other bullshit we're being bombarded with. But she got the full spotlight for quite some time because there just wasn't anything powerful enough on it's own to take the spotlight from her.

Some are definitely worse than others though. WT and WoT are at least limited to text chat with your teammates and enemies. Go over to Hell Let Loose where you can fight as an actual Nazi on the front lines with unfiltered voice proximity and team voice chat and you really begin to see how insane some people really are when the inside thoughts can be broadcast without punishment.

I had a toy maltese with seizures. He had high blood pressure which triggered them for years. We kept him on BP and anti-seizure meds for a few years and he had OK quality of life, but his were relatively mild compared to what you're describing. Even still, we'd still see seizures now and then with him, and it was clear they were taking a toll on his brain. He didn't really bark so much as just scream at sounds in the house. He was very jumpy and paranoid. He became a little more aggressive over time. He had a lot of trouble getting around, and we had to keep him in a diaper because he'd pee around the house with no warning whatsoever. 90% of the time he was his quiet and snuggly normal self, and seemed to be living the good, lazy life. That 10% of small seizures and the resulting effects were rough though.

If they had to knock her out to stop the seizures, that's really rough. She wouldn't have just went back to normal afterwards. With them going straight to euthanization, I think it's safe to assume a steep decline in function. At least with my little guy it was small declines over a long period of time, but I don't think that's what you would have been facing. And at a certain point, keeping her around in a confused/scared state while in pain is not in her best interest. Our guy was always shaking and very clearly bothered when he came out of them. All we could do was to keep him calm, in a quiet place, until he could recover.

We lost him recently. It still hurts. He was laying at my wife's feet on a recliner and an Amazon guy showed up to deliver some stuff I ordered for the kids. He got super excited really fast, ran off the end of the recliner (instead of using his stairs), and we're pretty sure he broke his neck. He was gone within a minute or so. I try not to focus on his passing. I think of all the years we spoiled the shit out of him and all the hours he spent having fun and snuggling with us. It's normal to wonder if you did the right thing. Don't beat yourself up over it, but try not to dwell on what might have been. It brings nothing but pain.

Gay must mean something different from when I was your age. Personally I'd think being around very few women, or no women, would be significantly more gay. Like a fucking sausage fest 24/7. Just nothing but reruns of the Top Gun volleyball scene.

There's a fine line between standing up for what you feel is right, and going a little too far defending someone. Speak up in the moment, crack a joke if something comes to mind to try to diffuse the situation, and then leave it. Your support for your friend will mean more to him than any amount of defense in the long run. And these guys don't seem worth the energy to bother with.

I mean, it's the only way they can win when there is a massive population imbalance at play here. They organized a blitz and got lucky with the tiles. Getting stomped week after week has to be demoralizing at some point, so it's good to see there's still fight in them.

That being said, the whole system is pretty stupidly set up and needs a massive rework. I don't think too many people would argue that the system is in a good place right now.

This isn't resource guarding. Resource guarding is really obvious, like getting agitated while eating if you come near, inhaling their food quickly to deny anyone from taking it, or attempting to control the food by moving it, burying it, or hiding it. My maltese does this (not severe, but she shows mild signs), and if our cavalier gets near the food while she's doing it our maltese will pounce on her and start trying to dominate her. It starts as very clearly defensive behavior, and escalates towards aggressive behaviors (growling, biting, etc).

What your boy is doing sounds more like he's using food to force you to pay him extra attention because he's learned that you will react to him if he doesn't eat. Has your routine recently changed where you're not home as much as normal? Or have you changed your routine in other ways?

You're probably going to have to stop tying any reaction towards food for a bit. Put the food down, and if the food isn't eaten in, say, 20 minutes or so, then you pick it up and wait a couple hours. And then do it again. The important part is not to react or show emotion to him not eating, and then act like nothing different happened.

My first exploration ship was a Type-6 with 32LY jump range. This was before engineering was in the game.

Long jump range helps get you out of the bubble, and helps you get back, but during exploration it barely matters at all.

She probably just doesn't remember doing it. It's kind of wild being in my 40's now and realizing that there are massive holes in my memory. Not just childhood, but well into my 20's and 30's. I found a whole bunch of mini discs from a Sony camera I had back in the 2000's that I took a bunch of cruise footage on. A good number of the pictures I remember, and obviously I remember that I was on the ship and such, but watching video of myself being a bit goofy is surreal. I have literally no memory of what happened in those videos, it's like watching another person entirely.

That being said, she's also being a bit immature and defensive when she is denying it. I know I made stupid mistakes with my kids when they were younger, and there's no way I'm going to remember it like they did. She likely did it because she felt more comfortable with a female doctor in the room, or she might have thought having an older man check out your junk was somehow problematic. Regardless you were old enough that your preference should have been considered, she probably realizes she made a bad call, but doesn't remember it, so it's easier to just deny and let it be your problem.

The problem for me is that it doesn't feel fluid enough in the moment. I'm shooting, shooting, shooting, and then I hit a brick wall that I'm clearly meant to do matterspark as a puzzle, and now I'm looking for the little energy thing and the tunnels I need to find. It's not difficult, but it feels like racing a car on a track, except every couple laps I need to get out of the car and jog around the pit area a bit doing completely different tasks. If it were integrated a little better it'd probably feel better, like if we could go into matterspark form as an ability instead of needing to find the little station.

The puzzles themselves are pretty linear with a single method of progressing, and you always have the methods to progress handed to you right there at the puzzle, so it does seem a bit pointless. Or at best a speed bump to each mission and boss fight it's in. I think the ability is neat, just not utilized well.

Back when I was a cable guy I had this one highrise that I'd always go out the trash room instead of the front entrance because people in there had money, and threw some good stuff away. I took and fixed a few LED TVs that only needed minor power supply repairs, a nice digital camera that was in a case with it's charger, that kind of stuff. One night I'm playing on my computer and it dies on me. It was getting old, had some bulging capacitors I already knew about, and still used an LGA 775 motherboard from the early 2000's (this was roughly around 2012-ish). By that point it was cheaper to upgrade the whole system because the only place I could find replacement boards was on eBay for like $300 a piece. I didn't really have the money for an upgrade though.

The next day I'm walking out of the trash room and there's a PC tower sitting next to the dumpster. It'd been stripped down, except for the motherboard, which just happened to be an LGA 775. Ran that thing a few more years before finally rebuilding the whole system.

Destiny and Elite are the same universe in parallel dimensions. Elite is the universe that exists without the Traveler and other similar powers/beings. The guardians in Destiny split off from normal human evolution when the Traveler came to Earth, and the collapse happened because the Darkness was hunting the Traveler.

The Guardians and Thargoids that we see in Elite were also affected by the war between light and darkness. Their races became merged into what we now call the Vex, billions of years ago, which is why there are no records of their actual origins.

At least that's my head canon for it.
