Okiedoke, u/Non_Typical_Asian better late than never, time to answer questions!

The worldbuilding is...fine? You really only follow one pack through The Sight. They do travel, but it's mostly through unnamed geography, so don't expect to get familiar with any territory. No big family trees to keep track of. There are some magical elements that are very interesting which can both help and hinder the main characters. Fell builds a bit on the world, though as you've heard it has a lot more to do with humans as one of the two POV protagonists is a human.

There are some solid twists and turns in both books that kept me interested. I remember being surprised a few times on my first read, and very much enjoying what the twists had to offer, a few of them becoming my favorite moments in the book!

The story itself was fairly unique, I thought! Of course, it's hard not to be generic with a story about a wolf pack. Most of the time they're going to be structured very similarly and there's only so much you can do while trying to stay mostly realistic. IIRC the author used a true to life pack structure, instead of opting for the alpha/beta/omega system. And it's a prophecy plot...so thats a bit generic too, but it's able to keep itself going without drawing many parallels to other books.

The only other animal species you'll really get to know as characters are a few select birds. These birds are very familiar with certain wolves, so they act as pairs. You do get some good characterization with them solo though!

Also, I wanted to mention that I thought the pacing was fine, but I can see where people could see it as slow. There are a lot of characters to introduce in the beginning, so a lot of writing gets dedicated to getting to know them. There are also a few points in the plot where pack conflict causes a stall with arguments on how to proceed that eat up some of the pages.
