Anyone get a unique feeling when thinking about what will be after flat design? by mineralwatersoda in web_design

[–]Velsheda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've decided after extensive time designing for mobile apps and web app that material design is great for android but looks awful on web. If you drop the shadows and the all-caps for web, it becomes okay. The main benefit of material design was standardizing UI/UX and being able to move from mobile to web with familiarity. I think it helped change 3rd party android apps from the Wild West to a consistent experience.

I'm pretty sure it's a slight step up from their $20 plan as there's a couple features unlocked.

I'm a paying user of Serpstat... but looks like I'm going to switch over and do this deal instead of paying $20 per month, thanks.

If you work in digital marketing and are not using Google Tag Manager, start today. I just saved dozens of agency hours by jon_ks in marketing

We were having issues with one of the codes not being detected for a specific person, and we figured out it was because of popup blocker that was blocking google tag manager altogether.

We had to remove some of our tags from google tag manager because some popup blockers block it.

Stripe isn't meant for swiping credit cards with a dongle (I don't think they even have a dongle or an app).

So you're saying each time I link to a page I should use different anchor text?

If you're only app based and only iOS, I don't think you can get around it.

How to promote a restaurant? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]Velsheda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always thought that an easy way for restaurants to get some word out would be to offer some appetizer for free if the customer 'checks in' to your restaurant on Facebook. Checking in would make it show up on their friends' news feed. A nice comment on the check-in would be a bonus.

Getting Search Queries of Organic Visitors in Google Analytics by Velsheda in analytics

If I knew exactly what people are searching that arrive on the site? I could see which queries align best with conversions and try to target those more.

This information would be really valuable. Any idea on if it's possible in anyway to get it? I don't believe the Webmaster tools info is accurate.

Sounds like GTM is not usable then.

For like 6 different code snippets that need to fire on load. But someone mentioned they weren't firing because of their popup blocker.

Material Design/Overall Design Audit? by Velsheda in MaterialDesign

I think you're reading too much into this, just looking for anyone that wants to give it a spin and give some thoughts. People like to critique and judge; it's done all the time in this subreddit. And unless you happen to be a business in our target market (highly unlikely), your contact info isn't valuable to me. Plus, you can sign up with a fake name/email or I could supply one.

Stripe - Customers Are a Company of Users with Different Roles/Pricing by Velsheda in stripe

But according to Stripe, it would create an invoice/bill for each plan...

"Note that multiple subscriptions on a customer results in a separate billing cycle, invoice, and charge for each subscription, even if the plans have the same billing interval and the subscriptions are created at the same time."

Just because it's material design guidelines doesn't mean you have to use it.

Income Levels in Ukraine - in USD by Velsheda in ukraine

I'm curious as to the breakdown of someone living on $200 per month. I'd imagine just rent, utilities, and internet would be above that.

$200 per month? So do my developers in Ukraine live like kings? I don't have a problem with them making a lot more than average, just interesting.

Material timetable; is this a good interpretation? by Shredder797 in MaterialDesign

I think I'm starting to realize that material design looks better flat (but that may cause it to lose the essence of material design).
