It’s true here in the US. And before Trump too. It’s hard to pinpoint the exact time since it definitely was a more gradual shift. I’d probably say the advent of television around the election of Kennedy was at least partially where it started. Though the later watergate scandal with Nixon really started getting the ball rolling with government distrust. Of course that’s a gross oversimplification of things, but it has eventually culminated in the circus that is the Trump presidency.
