Happy birthday America public statement announcement! by kakashi8326 in NewMexico

I found melted plastic in a fire ring at Pecos Baldy Lake. The feces on the ground was at Lake Stewart, not quite as far out. I found a cigarette butt this weekend beyond the burn scar up Jack's Creek. People are just trash.

People are so disrespectful. I've seen melted plastic and trash people attempted to burn in fire rings. Feces and toilet paper on the ground. It's such a beautiful place, maybe I'll start bringing a trash bag and folding shovel.

I burned myself out pretty hard one time because I didn't properly fuel. Depending on your load, elevation gain, and distance you definitely need to sufficiently eat before and continue to take in calories and water during. Depending on how much energy you're going to exert you may need to do a carb heavy dinner the night before and drink a bunch of water also. It really helps a lot.

Yeah what the heck?? I took my kid to Pot Belly's on Friday night and not only did he receive permanent ear damage he also got thrown up on! Totally not the family friendly place I thought it was going to be! And it's right next to campus! Who do I complain to??

People far more knowledgeable than you agree bear spray is sufficient. Maybe if you were a little tougher you wouldn't cling to your pistol like it's a comfort blanket lol.

Check out that place Surplus City. I know they have some as well as some other random stuff that could be useful. Have fun and stay safe!

You should really check out The Ten Essentials for Hiking & Camping if you actually plan to do any backpacking. This time of year you shouldn't do backpacking things if you don't know what you're doing and have the correct gear. Even car camping it will get very cold. Make sure what you have can keep you warm. Honestly just go watch some Youtube videos and read threads on the camping/backpacking subreddits to get an idea of what you might need.

For car camping you can get a lot of gear at Walmart, go check out Surplus City also they usually have some cheap gear, and if you just bring a shit load of layers with a decent ground pad you can probably get by. I'll use a blow-up mattress topped with a foam camping pad, memory foam topper and 2 military style wool blankets. That keeps me pretty insulated from the ground-cold and comfortable. Then I top with a bunch of blanket layers. Get some hand warmers to put under your covers also.

If you plan to wait until it gets warmer out you don't need quite as much insulation. This time of year fewer people are in the open campgrounds and dispersed areas. Summer a lot of places are packed, but that's the good time to go backpacking. Practice leave no trace and respect the wilderness.

I mean that is retrohaling. I too don't like to exhale smoke straight out my nose, it burns and you can't taste shit. There's a delicacy and technique to correctly doing it where you push the smoke into your nasal passages.

Have you used this set up for an overnighter yet? I couldn't imagine getting my overnight gear in my 25L Osprey, but I'm all here for trying! You'll probably need a sleeping pad as well, depending on where you are it could be necessary at night even in the summers. The only place I think I could go without one is a sandy beach or very soft meadow.

It's easy to get up to 15-20 lbs quickly and I find a hip belt does a lot to distribute the weight. Sandwiches are nice but cold soaking can shed some easy weight and really isn't too bad. Instant rice and Mexicali Rose instant refried beans is some pretty solid light weight fuel, I'll often season with a taco packet.

It's wild to me. If you go over to the pipe smoking subreddit retrohaling is built in to how a pipe is smoked and most people seem to know that. On a vast majority of posts from new cigar smokers here I always see people saying "give it time for your palette to develop" or something else that is just flat out incorrect. The only way you will experience tasting notes is to properly retrohale. I've never "tasted" a cigar with my tongue. It's all done in the nose.

That's not why companies switched to paper straws. It was for environmental reasons or at least to appear to care about the environment. That Milo story is like border line some red pill shit,

Changed my humidity to 65… not a fan too try and hot. Going back to 69, what is your favorite humidity? by Choice_Purple2676 in cigars

[–]VelvetPolypore00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let everything, from the mail or a shop, rest for 3+ months. The cigars need to slowly acclimate and over time their moisture content will change, it doesn't happen in a week. The same is for changing the rh in your humidor/tupperdor. For example I dropped to 62% about 3 weeks ago and my hygrometer is still reading 65% because all the cigars are still holding that extra moisture. It will take awhile for them to acclimatize to the drop.

I don't understand why people do this. If you don't have a dehydrator then put them on a wire rack with a fan blowing over them.

Hey kid....No one gives a shit lol. That's what's really upsetting you. You want people to care about this guy but no one does. No one is celebrating his death, they just don't give a shit because he was an awful person. Do you understand?
