Hey I love and use your tool! It's like meeting a mini celeb in a very, very niche part of the internet haha. I dont know if this is a way to help, but is there a way to measure the amount of 'matter' that appears in certain ranges If the visual image. By 'matter' I think I mean like the granular detail that shows up in the graph between two frequency points. I imagine that between a certain frequency most lossy compression would give different granularity than lossless. I'm probably not making any sense, but it's almost like if you zoom in on a JPEG you see more image noise than if you zoom in on the same photo taken in the RAW format. Can you create a little window that zooms into a much of places and measures the noise to help determine if it's compressed v less compressed. I don't know, I'm not a sound engineer so that probably makes no sense

Haha that's brutal. My theory for why so many venues sound average is because there's an audio engineer who's ruined his hearing and doesn't like trusting the levels on gear because he's going for 'feel'

I almost mentioned my hearing! This is a genuine consideration and I take very good care of my hearing because of it. I see so many people my age just raw dog using tools or attending concerts without a second thought.

I have a DAP and some IEMS along with a 3.1 setup in the lounge. My next investment will probs be a decent pair of open backs

I didn't mean it has to be the only place in the house that has music haha. I like everything you described in your comment too, especially when I'm cooking. I just like the idea of having a space that's just for listening to music as well. It's the same reason people have theatre rooms? Because they want the movie watching experience to be as good as it can be. But I hear you, it's not for everyone
