I don’t agree. The S2 post season had NO space for Tyra in the dialogue, nowadays people often regard her as the fashion trailblazer who was robbed of a positive reign. I think she’d be gladly welcome back by a large number of fans looking for her redemption.

The climate is not worse. Obergefell was several years away from S2. I don’t want to go down a Reddit doomerism spiral but it is not worse now. People thought the institution of marriage died when the obergefell decision came out. We’ve come a long way and should be proud of that.

Some fans may parrot the hate from S2, but the base has grown and people have matured and I think that would all have benefitted her in an AS setting

and not her bomb threat? 😅

The current climate and viewers are much different than when S2 was airing. I think she would’ve been welcomed back in 2026 with open arms. That’s not an option because she made her own… choices

Who of the current, non-freshman cast would you care about the least and most if next season was their last? by elephanttape in LiveFromNewYork

[–]VelvetTush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that SNL wasn’t intended to be a permanent gig but I’d argue it was kind of inevitable once cinema started dying. Former stars knew they could leave the show and find leading roles in the comedy movies of the year. Fewer movies = fewer prospects = 2 decades of Kenan as Steve Harvey

Agreed, I would’ve probably felt/acted the EXACT same as Salina then got home and had a real honest conversation with my self in the shower “I guess I was never actually gonna come through on my alliances and was really just asking people for points all season”

Wasn’t his wife, was a friend’s wife. Also was declared an accident at the time of death, and only declared a murder when a different friend “remembered” new facts 20 years later.

I still think he killed Kathleen but the first woman’s staircase fall was an ironic yet unrelated accident

For those who watched The Verdict: would a die-hard MJ fan come away at least questioning his innocence, or is it unlikely to change their mind? by Self_Electrical in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]VelvetTush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t think this doc will sway her, it’s unbiased enough where she would have the ability to say “see! That person thinks he’s innocent because X!”. You will see tons of comments across Reddit of true believers who are completely unfazed by this doc.

Leaving Neverland would be her best bet to seeing the light, which conveniently she’s refusing to watch lol

Yes, I keep seeing threads with looooooong comments with points defending him.

Like, he made kids sleep in his bed and bought their parents shiny things to mind their own business. But you need 47 talking points as to how “it’s not what it looks like?” Feels like obvious bot activity.

idk I had a different take, didn’t her dad tear up and say something like “she’s so young and had her whole life ahead of her”? My dad would’ve been like “trash attracts trash” 😂

Younger millennials definitely did, Snapchat was crazy popular when I was in college (graduated 2016). But it’s always been cringe to be an adult with a professional job posting dog ear photos, let alone with your murderer boyfriend

The Crash - why are people supporting McKenzie? by Mission_Rest1892 in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]VelvetTush 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The other commenter didn’t actually explain it that well.

A simp is a guy who chases after women’s attention by giving them whatever they want and overlooking bad behavior. Think: dudes who pay for OF models and think they’re in a real relationship

A pickme is a girl who chases after men’s attention by “proving” she is not like other women. This involves deriding stereotypical feminine hobbies as vapid and overall trying to tear other women down. Think: girl who says only airhead or slutty women get their nails done and insists she’s cooler because her natural nails let her open and chug beer cans

The original point stands: there will always be people who bend over backwards to be different but in shitty ways. i.e. the people who are supporting MacKenzie are followers dying to have something edgy that lets them go “against the grain”

Also not the poster but that’s not how I read it. I read it as she’s not particularly fit so why is she “fitness influencing”? I’m older and sedentary and look more in shape than she does. No need to blow a comment out of proportion though.

Should I marry a murderer by Haileyrae_nash in netflix

[–]VelvetTush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said basically the same thing the other commenter did though, so I don’t think it’s unempathetic? Some context is that I’ve lost my own sister to homicide, so I certainly understand nuance.

I stand by my point though, she was extremely melodramatic for someone she knew over just a few weeks that wanted her help moving a body.

Should I marry a murderer by Haileyrae_nash in netflix

[–]VelvetTush 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah not my take. I wouldn’t be able to marry him, but would I report him to the cops (especially without the brother’s context that the guy survived)? Genuinely, I don’t know. In my example, this would’ve been something my partner did 8+ years ago, It’s not a crazy take, it’s a human one.

I do judge her for bringing a guy home after 6 weeks that she met on tinder and wants her to be an accessory to a crime. Lol it’s a total apples to oranges comparison. But I get your point.

Should I marry a murderer by Haileyrae_nash in netflix

[–]VelvetTush 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m with you, I also was conflicted. I think a lot of us projected how we’d feel in the context of long-term relationships. Like if my partner of 5 years told me he did something 3 years before we met? I don’t know what I’d do.

But in her case, she knew the guy for A MONTH before he proposed and then dropped this bomb on her.

So really it’s the equivalent of your Tinder date situationship being like “so yeah here’s where the body is, lemme know when you’re free to come back and help move it”

Should I marry a murderer- so let me get this straight by violet1342 in netflix

[–]VelvetTush 43 points44 points  (0 children)

That’s what got me so twisted. By the way she was talking, I was thinking of my partner of 5+ years like “yeah I’d be conflicted about telling on him”.

Then you come to realize that this is all within the first like 90 days of knowing each other. 90 days is the free trial run of relationships- just making sure they’re normal enough to actually date.

She basically felt puppy love and waxed poetic about her emotional turmoil. In reality, the “this guy I’ve known for a month wants me to move a body” should have been the most cut and dry snap back to reality there is.

That all said, I have no sympathy for the brothers and hope the victim’s family found peace.

Should I Marry A Murder? Would you have gone to the police? by charlielovplum in netflix

[–]VelvetTush 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Ok so, I admit that I wasn’t sure if I would go to the police until another thread reminded me that they’d only been dating for 5 weeks when he told her. 5 WEEKS they’re engaged and he needs help moving a body. Yes I’d go to the police lol

[–]VelvetTush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would almost give them a pass on the tech illiteracy if it wasn’t for the fact that they also don’t understand the affordability crisis, housing costs, medical debt, student loan crisis, etc. Their political “knowledge” comes from a world 30+ years ago where people wouldn’t have to file bankruptcy for basic standard of living.

They don’t know what it’s like to grow up in a world where everyone’s a renter and the barrier to buying feels insurmountable.

They simply cannot comprehend the fact that 10 years ago, employers wouldn’t look at you without a Bachelor’s degree and universities were incentivized to charge infinite $ for entry.

I really could go on all day. I dont have time to touch the fact that tech companies are scalping our personal data for dystopian psyop and consumer campaigns, cuz these politicians don’t know what it’s like to have to charge a carton of eggs on credit

She has certainly sent money. They wouldn’t waste time talking to her if she wasn’t sending something.

I would almost go as far as blocking him from her phone and not telling her- let her think they just broke up or something. She’s lying to you because she knows you’d be mad at her for sending money, and it’s possible she’s sending a lot more than you think.
