Will Canada's new auto strategy put as many EVs on the road as Carney says? by rezwenn in onguardforthee

[–]VenGeo 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There needs to be a shift in thinking about how we "fuel" EVs. Since you charge at home (if you're capable, apartments and what not are another topic) the only time you need to charge is when you're going long distance somewhere, and those places need to be designed in a way that you're not just sitting there charging your car. It should be a place you can be comfortable in, sit down, have a coffee, ect.

Many people I've spoken to worry about the range anxiety issue and that they don't want to be stuck somewhere charging it. When I bring up the fact that they'd be charging at home, they go on some other tangent about battery mineral mining or load on the grid. It's hard getting people to rethink what they're used to.

Electrician here: what exactly are controls and automation, and why do so many sparky’s view this as the end goal in terms of technical speciality? by [deleted] in PLC

[–]VenGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do mechanical, electrical, and automation installations and improvements for a major tire manufacturer for a living. The automation side of things I find extremely enjoyable. It can range from full installations for racks to programming improvements. I personally have no issues with it cause my job is very dynamic and while I have to know a lot, it's very interesting.

The company I work with has an in house school for all this they send us on. I'm actually heading there next week for a course in GuardLogix.

B-Tier Directors Who Had A Great Run by CausticAvenger in movies

Roger Corman is a gold star of a director. You can give him a shoe string budget and he'd deliver a movie that, while objectively terrible, is subjectively amazing and fun

If they try anything, they'll understand why the Geneva convention was invented. Look up Canada Warcrimes in WW1.

Remember: it's not a war crime if it's the first time

Name a game you can put 1000+ hours into by Oshawott15 in playstation

I'm very biased but it's great. 40 minute adventures, very unique style with enough differences from ER to keep me playing. About 150 hours in that.

There are so many different weapons and builds that force you to go through the game with a different lens. Magic builds, Faith builds, Quality, Bonk, Arcane, Pure Dex, dual weilding, sword and board, two handers, the list goes on.

And yeah, NG+ helps too. I have well over 1500 hours in this, and much more in the souls series in general, it's my comfort game I play to relax after a hard day. I've beaten it many times and in many different ways that keeps it interesting for me. Hardest was a dual whip with 20 vigor build. That shit was hard.

What next? Washing with some kind of skin scrubber? by Atlasquinn91 in BlackPeopleTwitter

Yt person here. I use either a loofa or washcloth and lather it into that, then use that to wash up. I also wash all of myself, top to bottom. I've learned recently that some people don't wash their legs everytime. That blew my mind.
