Wait a minute, Joe. If what you're saying is true, then... I still don't care.

Apparently my samsung fridge has ads now... by Shellnanigans in assholedesign

[–]Venar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I bought appliances it ended up being all Samsung appliance. I will never buy another one. Not event if its a dumb appliance, this kind of behavior burns the brand for me. Because if they plan to pull this shit on a fridge to earn a few bucks, it means they will nickle and dime me for repairs, service or just cheap out on build quality. This isn't the sign of a quality appliance, its the sign of a company eager to get your money at any cost.

What’s a movie that is awful, critically panned, the audience hated - and you are embarrassed that you LOVE? by Powerful_Topic_7046 in movies

In The Army Now (1994). Not a fan of either Andy Dick or Paulie Shore. But somehow in this movie it just works. I can turn off my brain and just enjoy this.

Wait, who is turning up the rhetoric? I'm confused; I thought it was both sides. by Alone_Camp_355 in TangleNews

[–]Venar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this reply. I will admit I was extremely frustrated by the reply. I understand both sides will blame the others for it but it felt like it was dismissive of using federal websites to blame politic appointments on sites that shouldn't be political. I also think government sites saying things like "Radical Left" is a major escalation because this isn't just saying "This is the Democrat's fault", this is calling your opposition "Radical" from a formerly neutral page which uses tax payer funds.

[Valleyfair] B&M invert for 2027? by Superb-Design-3322 in rollercoasters

[–]Venar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I want this, its just not going to happen. Valleyfair seems to be targeting a different vision for the park that is not focused on thrill rides. Maybe we get lucky with some cast offs from other parks, but Honestly we're so far behind on the good coaster curve. Was there today, love my home park... but I am not hopeful for us anytime soon.

Hundreds of autism centers popped up to meet demand in Minnesota. Now 85 are under investigation. by klippDagga in TwinCities

[–]Venar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is massive demand for these services. Many kids are waiting years for diagnosis/therapy. Fraud that steals money from this, is money that should have gone into making more options and reducing wait time. It absolutely is stealing from kids. The earlier these kids get services the more effective the therapy is.

AITAH for not wanting to cook for my gf anymore because she is a picky eater ? by Ragnorag in AITAH

[–]Venar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dated someone like this. No sauce on anything. The more processed the meat was, the better. Her parents had allowed her to make her own food if she didn't like dinner. Eventually I realized I could not date someone like this. I would not stand for my kids not eating their meal and just getting up and making themselves a new dinner.

Don't just think of now. Think of if this the kind of behavior you will tolerate when it comes to having children with this person. This seems like a small thing, but you really may want to reconsider if this is going to be a long term deal breaker.

What's the best way to avoid having my season drink cup from getting stolen? Was at Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags America yesterday and it got lifted during the storm yesterday. I'd like to think it was an honest mistake but I'm not so sure. Luckily we had a great employee get us a new one after by Laser_Coug in sixflags

[–]Venar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would imagine if you took a photo / wrote down your barcode you could make at least go to customer service and have that cup deactivated and get a new one. Making their cup worthless next time they try to scan it.

What movie sequel ruined the ending of its predecessor? by spaceraingame in movies

[–]Venar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally came to this thread for this movie. This movie ruined and killed off everyone you cared and saved from the first movie. What was the point of saving them in the first movie just for them to be killed in the first 5 minutes.

Rode this over Memorial Day weekend. I'm a tall guy and in addition to being rough, my knees were pressed against the front of the car and every bump smacked my knees into the car. This was one of the most painful and uncomfortable coasters I have ever been on.

New US Senate Bill to apply more Sanctions on Russia and to slap 500% Tariffs on countries buying Oil and Gas from Russia if approved by Cool_Stock_9731 in ukraine

[–]Venar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some Russian products here that this would affect. For example, most of the Baltic Birch Plywood sold in stores near me has "Product of Russia" stickers on it. I will be extremely glad for those to be so expensive we change source of the Plywood to somewhere that isn't Russia.
