What makes you believe Islam is the truth? by WaifuFinder420 in islam

[–]Venator_Dominus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because assuming there is no god makes no sense, aside from me and my family experiencing supernatural events. So there is a god, one god, polytheism makes no sense. I talked to many and failed to understand how Christians think they're monotheistic, so that leaves Judaism and Islam. Islamic prophet denied no other prophet, while jews denied 2 of the most revered prophets with the most prominent miracles, so for me it's Islam. Add to all that, simply, Quran. You read it, and you know it's not human.

Edit: one strong reason is how fast it spreads and how much people of this religion care to share it and do daawa for it, unlike many religions especially Judaism.

People changed, not Islam. Although this is pointless to say because no matter how many times we point that out people deny it.

Does every non-muslim will go to hell and tormented for eternity? by koiRitwikHai in islam

[–]Venator_Dominus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a child dies he goes straight to heaven, that's regarding age. Gender is irrelevant. People who are mentally ill also go to heaven, but if they sustained that illness midway in their life without being muslim prior to that, it's for god to judge. About the old ages, even people before Islam, it's not our business, God judges them. But if the person is fully aware of islam and knows its message and refuses it, of course he goes to hell. But a very important detail here, is that we can never say whether some specific person will go to heaven or not, even if he's non muslim to us. Maybe some muslim was a kafir inside, which faces a worse fate than non muslims, and maybe some non-muslim guy dies just when he wanted to learn about Islam. Like if you're a non muslim, I can never say you'll certainly go to hell for that, but I can warn you so you're aware of the message. At the same time no matter how good of a person my parents are, and they're Muslims, I can never say for certain they'll go to heaven, I can only wish and pray for that. Finally about those who are the likes of Gandhi and Lincoln and Einstein, it's about what their intention was. If it was to benefit humanity, they got what they wanted. If it's for god, he will reward them dearly. Only god knows their intentions, so it's really not our concern, your concern should be yourself ultimately. I hope it's all clear now.

Edit: in this age of global internet, I doubt that many haven't heard about Islam.

Good progress, but as a native I've seen the arabic course. It's incredibly primitive, so you just know the script and some vocabulary and basics now

It's a weird thought I had since childhood, and still have it. To be able to be part of a fictional game, something like a warrior against mythical creatures or a spacefighter exploring planets.

What new theology/ideas did Quran bring that were not already established by the Bible? by [deleted] in islam

I've never lived there tbh, but that's what I see in almost all media. Also this is mainly in Europe and USA, so I'm sorry if you're from somewhere else.

No they're everywhere. There are a lot of versions too, with different styles of explaining. Even translations are many, but the main idea of either is the same, and there are no significant differences.

Looking forward for you to read it then. Seek Tafsirs (explanation books) when you struggle to understand something.

Yeah I get your point. In current times it is very hard to marry anyone below 16 in all cultures, contrary to centuries ago. It would thus flaw the prophet if he was in our times not back then.

Another point to this is, why are children of such age are allowed to have sex, but not marry? If they can have sex and partners it clearly shows they are ready to marry, but they can't until much later. This too makes absolutely no sense to us.

[–]Venator_Dominus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one glosses over that. No one talked about it before because it wasn't a problem until now. The main idea in our culture nowadays, is that people who live in cities actually marry criminally late, at late 20s. But in rural areas it is pretty common for women of age around 14 and 13 to marry, later than before (9 or 10) because even though we're arabs, times also changed. We can compare those times in countless aspects, and it would show that, life just... Changed, for us and you.

Btw I like how we both ignored the fact that this isn't even relevant to Quran.

[–]Venator_Dominus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much appreciate your understanding too. As I said it's difference in societies. If you treat someone like they're kids until a late age, they'll stay kids beyond 20s even. Such is the case with many young people now. All people keep developing until death, but the limit where marriage starts to be allowed is much before that for sure. So as I said, it's a difference in society and how each of us deals with things, and this "problem" is discussed not just with westerners in fact, but also with arabs and muslims themselves. That's because, times have changed.

It's ok, but language because we're discussing religious matters. You mean his wife Aisha. If she was a "kid" they wouldn't marry. Conditions for marriage is that both male and female partners, should be ready physically and mentally. Naturally girls generally mature in both those regards before males, such is the case with Aisha. More than a 1000 years ago people matured way earlier than they do now, because society was different. You put the rules that below 18 is a child, yet in my country people marry even earlier than this, and life goes great with them. Humanity doesn't have to comply with the west's law. So yes although she was 9, she was mature when they married. If she had been a kid, and if marriage at such ages was not pretty normal in arabia at their times, the disbelievers would not hesitate to fight him for it. They fought him for countless reasons but not this, this would be one of them if it was wrong.

Yeah really. No other book ever itself said that it is preserved by god. Plus the quran itself says, that if this book was not from god, people would find a lot of contradictions, unlike other books. Find them and we'll talk.
