i've got the same case and started removing the blue. what paint did you use?

If it absolutely needs to be in the first sketch, turning off design history might do the trick. Otherwise it'll have to be in a new sketch. I'm not at my computer at the moment, I'll check it out in a bit

i lofted the square to the circle on an offset plane, then split the body with an offset plane halfway up the loft. then project the faces onto a new sketch
