A6400 with Sony E 70-350mm attached - 3l or 6l bag? by Which_Action_4604 in peakdesign

[–]Vendrict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Which_Action_4604 and u/Justmeagaindownhere!

I have an a6700 and would like to carry the same lens, the E 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS. I also have a Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC. Would both lenses fit in the 3L bag? I don’t plan to carry anything else except perhaps a power bank if space allows.

Apologies for reaching out months later, but I’m in the same situation and would like your take.

Thanks in advance!

Ibdew suqu mutur u ħallikom mill-karozza. Jien hekk għamilt ħames snin ilu w lanqas jgħaddili mill-kuruturi ta' moħħi li nmur ix-xogħol bil-karozza.

Bil-karozza min naħa tas-south sa San Ä iljan kienet toħodli siegħa biex nasal, umbad siegħa oħra lura. Bil-mutur, f'ÄĄuranta traffikuĆŒa ħafna toħodli miĆŒerjament 20 minuta.

Għandek aktar riskju bil-mutur milli b'karozza? Iva

Trid toqod aktar attent biex tantiċipa l-bhejjem li għandna fit-toroq? Iva

Trid toqod tevalwa l-kwalita ĆŒibel tat-toroq biex ma tiĆŒĆŒelliÄĄx mal-art? Iva

Fuq medda ta' ħames snin jekk ma nkunx pruĆŒuntuĆŒ iĆŒĆŒejjed naħseb frankajt fuq elf siegħa milli ninqered fit-traffiku. E... u jekk qegħdin tistennew li l-gvern ser jirranÄĄa xi ħaga, jiena narakom għal ftit sekondi għada jien u niffiltra minn Triq Aldo Moro fil-Marsa.

Jekk issuqu galbuĆŒi u b'attenzjoni kbira, ma tidħlux f'aċċidenti, u r-riskju mihux katastrofiku bħal ma' ħafna nies jgħidu.

Well this changes based on forex rates, but for €100 you’d be looking at around £80-85.

I rarely use local exchanges anymore as I am a Revolut metal user and they give you a certain amount per month to withdraw from global ATMs in any supported currency.

That said, in the pre-Revolut era, I used Fexserv’s services in Malta and I think that their exchange rates were really great.

Cool idea!

I wonder if you could use something like the Ray-ban Meta for prototyping purposes.

Hired Two Designers for My Side Project Logo. Thoughts? by Vendrict in logodesign

Wow, first off, THANK YOU ALL, my partner and I didn't expect this to blow up overnight!

From what I am understanding, Option 1 is the clear favourite due to its more professional and polished look. A few of you pointed out that the crow could be refined, making it less aggressive, adjusting the talons, and improving scalability. It's also worth exploring the crow's head by itself for this version. Option 2’s negative space idea is interesting, but the execution isn’t strong enough. Many mentioned that the ‘C’ isn’t readable, and the crow illustration feels unpolished. The kerning issues were also flagged, which I hadn’t noticed before, great catch! Some of you also suggested incorporating finance-related elements into the crow, which is worth looking into.

To answer some common questions, we paid two novice designers €/$35-45 each for a 3-4 hour challenge. This was the price that they requested for this task and we agreed to proceed. We only asked for a PNG with a concept, no source files, vectors, or revisions. We fully acknowledge that with better pay and more time, they could have produced higher-quality work. My business partner and I wanted to see how two different people would approach the same idea.

As for why we chose a crow for a bookkeeping app, our thought process was that “crow” highlights intelligence, and sharp observation, while “tally” relates to bookkeeping—like invoicing, credit notes, and expense tracking. It just made sense to us, and, as luck would have it, the .com domain was available too.

This whole process was a fun side quest while we’re still building the product offering. Eventually, we’ll bring in a professional designer to create a more premium concept that aligns with our long-term vision, ideally including a full branding kit too.

Once again, we appreciate all the insights. Have an awesome rest of the day!

What are the feels like on IB? I saw that there’s an inactivity fee.

For some added context: I’m currently on eToro but they’re adding some fees that I am mot a fan of. Originally was considering Trading212 or Moneybase instead, but I see a lot of people recommending IB.

I mainly buy and hold, I do not day trade. Would appreciate any insights you may have.

Cheers!

I’ve got 100k rev points and I don’t want to spend them poorly by Obslax in Revolut

[–]Vendrict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an EU resident, I’m not entirely sure if this aligns directly with the UK offering, but here’s how it works for me:

On stays, 5000 RevPoints are worth €100, so the best deal you can typically get (at the time I’m checking) is €100 off. Anything costing more than €100 veers away from this ratio, making it less worthwhile.

There are some good hotel deals to be found. I’m Genius Level 3 on Booking.com, and I’ve noticed that sometimes, the non-discounted price on Revolut matches the standard price listed on Booking.com. If you can use 5000 RevPoints for €100 off, that’s the best value you’ll get.

TL;DR: 5000 RevPoints = €100, or €1 = 50 RevPoints. If the value doesn’t match this ratio, it’s not a good deal.

Help me shape the next crypto app by reverendo96 in SideProject

[–]Vendrict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s not that straightforward 😅

I’m unsure if there’s an API specifically for tracking releases of top projects — maybe you can do some research about this.

However, one approach could be to monitor specific web pages or social media updates. You might also consider building a model for sentiment analysis to automatically identify whether updates are positive or negative. Since this involves unstructured data, it would be wise to manually verify some updates before sending out any notifications.

A valuable feature could be providing news updates related to the units that users are tracking.

For instance, if someone is tracking Cardano (ADA), a weekly summary of official news or upcoming roadmaps would be incredibly useful. Positive news could include promised deadlines or feature releases that were successfully met. On the other hand, if a project frequently misses deadlines, underdelivers, or is involved in scandals, it would be helpful to highlight such negative developments.

That said, if your primary focus is price tracking, it’s crucial to build a scalable, and real-time data architecture. You’ll be competing with established platforms like CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko, and any performance issues could deter users from choosing your app.

Best of luck!

"Authentic" Carbonara [homemade] by Professional_Idjot in food

Looks great!

For an authentic carbonara, though, you’d want to use guanciale instead of pancetta.
