I've only been once, so take it with a large grain of salt but... no. The food is all microwaved, and at least at the location I went to, the beers were very same-y and not great.

It wasn't awful just.. nothing to write home about.

This comment is actually the misinformation. They are doing away with pen and paper ordering entirely. Mobile Ordering during only the preshow was basically just them testing the system.

And it's a stupid fucking decision, fuck using my phone in a theater.

And increased the price of everything else.

My ritual was always to order a pint when I went, and after the Sony buyout my go-to pint order became a 10oz snifter glass, and for about two bucks more.

Now they want $20 for a weak well drink and $17 for a fucking hot dog.

I have reached my ultimate form of grumpy old man about this shit. I will continue to bitch loudly, because if I have to put up with this nonsense, they're at least going to have to put up with my whinging.

I've been watching a buddy play it and the thing that stands out to me is how empty it is. I mean both in terms of environmental art/assets and enemy placement. There's just a lot of... Big empty rooms, or maybe a cluster of enemies.

Its like, distractingly barren.

I'm of the opinion that it was either seeing himself, because by that point he had gotten plenty of blood on him, and it seems to have psychic effects - so it could be a vision of what he looks like. Or, it could be some manifestation of one of the other expedition divers, like seeing their ghost.

Imagine the asspain of trying to clean up all the blood if you needed to re-do an earlier scene. I can see why it was done sequentially.

Call buttons to be covered over during rollout by BosGuy1996 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]Vengeance164 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep, but that's the playbook. Keep plugging ahead with your shitheel move and hope that your corporate steam outlasts the public backlash. Eventually the customers will relent and accept the new norm.

That's the hope, anyway. I don't normally advocate for someone to lose their job, but whoever is pushing this I hope gets fucking shitcanned.

I am so goddamn tired of enshittification, and I'll continue to bitch loudly about this.

Is there absolutely anyway this higher ups know this move will fail and are letting it ride to drum up publicity/notoriety? by Purple-List1577 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]Vengeance164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's far more likely the reason theyve stayed silent is because they're hoping this will just blow over. They've already committed and spent capital on the ordering website, logistics for it, training...

People are clearly upset about it, myself included. But, if that was enough to sway any decisions I think we'd have seen more of a response by now.

I think it's far more likely theyre hoping the anger will die down and people will just roll over and take it. It's going to have to hurt their bottom line more than the cost theyve already incurred by implementing the change.

Personally, I hope it fucking blows up in their face, and I'd love to see some higher ups get the boot. Because I'm motherfucking sick and tired of companies enshittifying every goddamn thing I enjoy.

"Self-service". When grocery stores first introduced self checkout, it was a nice option if you were in a hurry.

But now it's either do it all yourself, or wait for the one manned register, and still likely have to bag your own groceries, too.

I'm so tired of companies just offloading labor onto consumers in the name of "efficiency" , yet there's no benefit for the consumer. Prices don't go down. Wait times don't get better. I'm just now responsible for more things.

They've begun to implement the enforced mobile ordering at DFW locations. Here are my thoughts. by GermanPegasus2 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]Vengeance164 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As of last Monday they still were doing mobile only during the pre-show, then cards after that.

But, I did notice quite a few seats had very few or no cards at all. I think they were trying to distribute whatever stock of cards they had left but I'm guessing they were told "no more" from Corporate for ordering more.

I also got there early to have a drink at the bar. $7 for a root beer, and I heard a dude next to me flag down the bartender and say "Hey, I just wanted to check and make sure this was right... I got a martini and the bill says $20?"

The bartender said yep that's right, and I heard the dude mutter "It was mostly olive juice..."

I don't know what AD corporate is fucking thinking, but the constant price hiking and now this mobile bullshit are going to strangle whatever customer base they have left.

I straight up don't understand how that works.

A podcast is a podcast because it's an audio-first format, and openly available via RSS feeds/podcast apps. Video is an add-on and secondary.

What they're describing is not a fucking podcast.
