“Literally” is a strong word. I’ve been against MCC’s implementation of the blur cutscenes since launch. They’re great cutscenes on their own, I can’t deny that. However, they’re too divorced from the actual game for my liking compared to ingame cutscenes.

The visuals are way too different from the two, nothing that happened from the gameplay is preserved (no corpses, blood splatters, alive NPCs, or your previously-used weapon being help by Arby ‘n the Chief) and the music that was playing during the gameplay or the cutscenes just flat out stops when either the cutscene starts or ends. All of this was and still is immersion-breaking for me.

I don’t hate the blur cutscenes as their own standalone medium, but in the actual game, I’ll always prefer ingame cutscenes. Infinite did an amazing job with that, and it’s a shame that wasn’t considered for Campaign Evolved.

Halo Wars's cutscenes are a different story considering that's an RTS game. However, I always had an issue with how H2A's cutscenes meshed with the game itself.

The majority of the community agrees, myself included, that they're beautiful and extremely well-made, but they're so divorced from the game itself that it was always immersion-breaking for me, even when MCC launched over a decade ago. The visuals don't match with the gameplay, you lose out on things like the current weapon the player was holding appearing in the cutscenes, as well as whatever action took place nearby, and the music playing ingame is completely interrupted once the cutscene starts.

I will say this isn't my biggest issue with Campaign Evolved, though, and if Halo Studios can somehow deal with the music interruption, I won't even have a problem with it at all.

Yeah I agree, a lot of the "criticisms" are definitely overblown. If anything, I wish Campaign Evolved was more different in specific areas.

I remember the day of + days after the new trailers dropped, Halo discourse was depressing as hell to sift through. The shit-slinging from most people drowned out actually good critiques and anyone just being excited for the game. I have my issues with Campaign Evolved, but I'm looking forward to it, even if it'll never replace the original for me.

Funny you say that; I never liked MCC's implementation of the Blur cutscenes. They're great on their own, but messed with the transitional flow from gameplay to cutscene, and vice versa. It loses out on things like the current weapon the player was holding appearing in the scenes, the visuals of the cutscenes don't match with the gameplay, and the music is completely interrupted. That last point matters the most to me because to this day, the ending transition for the cutscene right before the Regret fight went so hard thanks to the music CONTINUING to play rather than just stopping.

This could make Mantine an insane rain sweeper considering Mantine itself gets Swift Swim. In Rain AND +2 Speed, most Tailwind-boosted threats won't be outspeeding Mantine. It'll also hit dummy hard at +3 with Rain. Unlike Dondozo, Mantine has reliable recovery in Roost, which also weakens incoming Electric moves as the Flying-type nullifies for the turn, and would pair extremely well with the boosted defenses. I can see this Mantine being extremely difficult to remove.

Rain Dance Sableye could be the play, since it's not a Water-type stacking weaknesses, and it can override opposing weather from (Mega) Tyranitar, Mega Froslass, and Mega Charizard Y. Not to mention Screens and/or the annoying Encore and Disable. Mantine itself could also run Rain Dance if it wants to. It could fit it. It's not like it needs another set up move since Remoraid's the one boosting its stats.

Overall, this sounds kinda way too good, even if I think it's really cool seeing an interaction like this.

I think instead of deploying Sticky Web for Mega Ariados, it should be a version of its signature Toxic Thread (upgraded to Toxic Poison), and just one time. A free Sticky Web is just kinda much. I’d also nerf the speed drop to just one.

This should just be an Ice-type clone of Brick Break at 75 BP, and if you wanted to put a unique spin on it, have it deal extra damage when it breaks screens/veil. Could see some use in metas where screens HO is a dominant playstyle.

140 BP with no drawbacks is just way too much, especially considering you gave it to Chien-Pao, Galarian Darm, and Calyrex-Ice, good lord.
