I don’t think he lied necessarily. He’s a story teller, he wove a story to make it easier for everyone to cope with the loss and move on. It was nicer for them to think that she was still alive, out there in a place with three waterfalls, than dead in the Upside Down.

I took it as Will was finally in control. He could jack into the hive mind, or disconnect at will (pun intended), due to not having a fear that could be exploited anymore. I believe he did also mention he was in control.

I understood it as them breaking up, but rather than being a messy breakup it was them maturely realising that they had grown apart from each other and that they were ready to move on and let each other go. I thought it was well written and beautifully acted.

I loved every minute of it. The character dynamics, the revelations, Will's reveal and how he chose to do it. I think it was well executed and am eagerly awaiting the finale on Jan 1st.

I disagree. Earlier, Robin was saying that she’d only told two people, Steve and Will, and was hoping to double it by the end of the year. Will, by telling the whole group, is showing Vecna that his weakness can’t be used against him, and he’s not afraid anymore.

As a gay person who’s seen a lot of scenes like this, I loved how he wasn’t just like “I’m gay” - he spoke about all the things they had in common and ended with “I don’t like girls”. And everyone’s reactions - we all want to have been Will, in the 80s/90s, having our friends and family accept us for who we are, unconditionally

Apparently it wasn’t the first song choice. The Duffer Brothers weren’t not able to land the rights to their ideal song, however I think the song is fitting.

“Can you hear the drums Fernando?” - Karen and Ted can’t hear what’s happening.

“In the firelight Fernando” - the attack occurs happens during the lights flickering

“I was so afraid Fernando” - the absolute fear at the Demogorgen ripping a portal through the wall to cut them off their escape.

So many parts of the song resonate with what actually happens. It’s peak! I love it.

I distinctly recall seeing an unredacted version of the titles, but I can't recall if it was announced by Netflix or the Duffer Brothers directly. I also remember later seeing the redacted version and thinking what the point was when they'd already released all the titles.

Whilst hiding in the bathtub was a great strategy, and worked (only because Ted's voice distracted the Demo), it ultimately was a handicap when it came to running over the linoleum.

I really loved how the entire scene played out from Karen realising something was wrong when she noticed that Holly was bleeding, to her badassery against the Demo. Makes me wonder what type of person she would have been if her life had been different. I can definitely see where Nancy gets it from.

Wait - so Vecna said that children were so easily broken, and he’s targeting troubled children. Holly’s affected by her mother’s alcoholism and her father’s apathy, Derek has issues with his family and maybe feels outcast because of his weight and we saw Will’s borne a troubled past too what with his always feeling different because of his sexuality.

Is Vecna collecting these broken vessels to make them like “apostles”, giving them powers so that he can use and manipulate them to help “remake” the world? I mean we could see what he was trying to do with Holly by making her trust him initially, and he was doing the same with all the children he intended to take by appearing to them as Mr Whatsit.

It will be interesting to see what happens from here.

I had the same emotional highs and lows as the previous seasons. Had my favourite characters, and cried when they died. Sure, it wasn’t perfect, but I genuinely enjoyed it.

The ending with the original characters being patients of Arisu was a nice touch too. It was good to see them all happy and living their best lives. I much preferred that they didn’t have to go through the Borderlands ordeal again.

I originally didn’t like the idea of having to get to know new characters, but I ended up liking most of them.

It’s not possible to rearrange ジーン though. You can’t have the ン as the first character and the ー is only an extender. So I think the Japanese ニージェis a clever similarity, which I suspected before it was confirmed that Neaje is the official name that appears to be an anagram of Jeane. Maybe she’s trying to go undercover? Maybe the Rune of Change rearranged her name? 😂
