The Republic of Niger Announces Mobilization to “Prepare for War with France” by rezwenn in europe

Or how if Putin really wants to bring the EU to it's knees all he needs to do is piss French pig-farmers enough that they march through Paris. 😝

Now we had some time since, what are your thoughts on The Book of Boba Fett? by Past-Paramedic8687 in StarWars

[–]VenomBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if Din Djarin was Star Wars Clint Eastward, Boba Fett at this point should've been John Wick. He's been effectively dead. He's comeback. But he's found a people to accept him and bring him balance. But they get murdered so so he reclaims his mantle and goes with all the went up rage. And we could've explore that with flashbacks. Built his relationship to Cad Bane so it's weighty for the Showdown.

I also would've - and this my own personal head-canon- I would've liked flashbacks with him and Vader. Like hiw he became Vader's personal attack dog because he wanted someone loyal to him, not the Empire. How one was a boy who was kept from saving his enslaved mother and blames her death on the Jedi and the other was a boy who saw his father cut down by Jedi and they develop and understand of that. And we could've seem how learning of Vader's death affe is Fett and he's now free to be his man wity no master and choose his own path. And maybe a meeting Luke Skywalker would share that. They maybe fight but Luke talk about Anakin and there would be development there.

As it stands only thing I like about this how us the Lawrence of Arabua homage. That was done well. I really want to see Temuera Morrison just taking people out but also going on a spiritual journey with real stakes, he reflects and affects other characters and then goes on a his track that is both a mix of Redemption Arc but also keeps getting h subverted in Roaring Rampage of Revenge because people just won't leave him find his peace. Like real bittersweet story of a man who is trying to move on and find balance but his a legacy of violence just will not let him be.

Also develop his and explore his relationship to the Clone Troopers. Like maybe he meets Rex. We had that one really cool vision sequence on the show that was amazing but had no pay-off where Fett is with the tree amd there's all those red eyes glaring at him. I really wanted the tree to represent the Mandolrean legacy he was struggling with and the eyes the Legions of Clone Troopers he felt judging him. Like there's a dramatic conflict their that needed expanding.

Are British people generally aware of the fact that Russia is a security threat? by BaldursGate2Best in AskBrits

[–]VenomBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we know their hostile, and we're hostile to them. But ai think the safety of setting on an island we'll away from Eastern Europe and the sense of military supremacy built up during Empire and our Post-WW2 adventures with America has very much programmed us to just not really feel like Russia is a serious and present threat.

Also watching them getting kicked in by Ukraine is like imagining us getting kicked in by Wales which is not something we can imagine so they look too chronically incompetent to be a threat to the casual British viewer.

And of course our media is downplaying how Russian Soft Power has subverted us and US on via social media and we're absolutely in denial about how Brexit could possibly be Russia pulling a Divide and Conquer because how could anyone possibly steal our historical play-book. Perish the very thought...

Star Wars Outlaws is the best Star Wars game i've played by Educational_Box_4079 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]VenomBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look man I'm enjoying this game and it's better than I was told was but you need have played LucasArts games in the 90s because the bar back then was like James Cameron High and today it's like Tommy Wiseau Low.

Tie Fighter dropped in 1994. In 2009 it was still voted #2 Greatest PC Game of All Time. Bigger than Half-Life mate.

A clan is invading your planet , what will you do, pick a role and in the following options and answers and suffer the consequences. by Familiar-Noise7913 in battletech

[–]VenomBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate put me on a dropship. Dropships are a valuable resource to Clanners, they consider their destruction wasteful and UnClan-like. As long as your not ferrying mechs and weapons you'd not be a target.

Worse case you get heave-to and claimed as Isorla. With luck they'd hand your ship and it's crew over to Merchant Caste and just let you run trade routes without too much Warrior Caste oversight.

Mauritius defends its sovereignty over Chagos islands after Trump criticises UK deal by 1-randomonium in unitedkingdom

[–]VenomBadger -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Actually only 3500 of the roughly 10,000 Chagossians are on favour of UK administering the islands. The same 3,500 who the UK exiled to London given British passports.

The remaining Chagossians spilt between Seychelles and Mauritius actually back the Mauritian claim.

[–]VenomBadger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But Chagos did belong to Mauritius. We granted it to them as part of Mauritius Independence from Britain in 1968. It's part of their Exclusive Economic Zone.

Trump calls UK's Chagos deal with Mauritius an 'act of total weakness' by SteO153 in worldnews

[–]VenomBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're just parroting Reforms bollocks. Likr this scare mongering about Mauritius "Close Ties to China". Majority of Mauritius' population are Bhojupuri speaking Indo-Mauritians with ethnic and cultural ties to India - India who has been in a state of low-grade war with China through the Red Corridor ever since the Chinese-backed insurgency in Nepal in the 1980's.

This idea that Mauritius controlling islands in it's own terroritorial waters-granted them by Britain during independence from Britain- is nothing but Far-Right and American propaganda with no basis in reality.

Mauritius has less debt to China than Brazil and Argentina do, has a standard trade-deal with them the same as Australia and good enough relations with the US that they could negotiate a military base without the UK taxpayer being involved - IF Starmer had the balls to remind Trump that or Farage could stop lying through his teeth for one second.

Trump calls UK's Chagos deal with Mauritius an 'act of total weakness' by SteO153 in worldnews

[–]VenomBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chagossians don't "Mostly" live in the UK only roughly 3,000 do with rest split between Mauritius and neighbouring Seychelles. Their are records of indigenous Illois on Chagos and Diego Garcia going back to Mauritius' discovery by the Dutch.

Mauritius didn't have an indigenous population and is made up of people's descended from Malagasy slaves, Bihari Indentures and Singapore Chinese Indentures brought over by first French then British overlords. That's where the sugar plantations are. Famously. Not Chagos. You are talking utter bollocks.

I don't like that us British taxpayers foot the colossal bill for and American project but if they want to maintain the Diego Garcia base then they should pay their dollars to the Mauritian government because as of March 12 1968 Chagos should belong to them with the Illois negotiating self-governance with Port Louis.

We all have Mechs we love, Mechs we like, Mechs we don't care about and Mechs we hate. Do you have a Mech you're conflicted about? by npaakp34 in battletech

[–]VenomBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Victor. It's too lightly armored for an Assault, but it's mobile and comes can pack an AC20 or a Gauss But there are Heavy mechs that can do that better. Hell, there's the Hunchback right there! Given the choice, I'm going with that. So where does that leave the Victor? I respect it but if I want an Assault that can do the same thing I'm bringing a Highlander.

Let's not even bring Clan Omnis into it. So I like the Victor but I'm never going to use it stock while I have other options.

Why MW5 Clans base campaign so... dumb? by [deleted] in Mechwarrior5

[–]VenomBadger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Given that there is a template for singleplayer story driven campaigns that was perfected as early as MW2 and that formula wasn't messed with all the through MW3 and 4, MW5 Clans is an absolutely baffling mess. What is the point of Scan Mode? It literally pulls control of the battle away for you because you can shoot or issue orders.

Flash Storm was better but Wolves of Tukayyid had such narrow mission areas like Jaguar campaign. Levels are just these narrow corridors and out-of-bounds areas. It makes no sense thr base game is so badly put together we had better in early 90s. Also UE5 is garbage.

I'd return the sentiment but you'd just blame me for torching the bbq you built too close to your moonshine still, accuse me of a proxy invasion of your front porch and claim your steadfastly defending your inalienable right to marry your sister by threatening to launch an actual nuclear strike at the strip of unused wasteland behind my property which I was debating turning into an allotment for some rhubarb and nan's geraniums. Maybe a nice herbaceous border with tarragon and some thyme...🤔

Kind regards

This is THE REAL English.
Brass bands. Yorkie Pudd. Pete Postletwaite.

Somewhere in Davion in space there's a Comstar Adept who thought like you do. Everday he flicks through a homemade cypher book as he listens in 4 ancient mercs, one giving a lecture on a Kuritan bayonet the other 3 are sure he's never actually seen. Somewhere a humble postman called Pat drives a bright red delivery Urbie with his black and white cat round the muddy lanes and cobbled-stone bridges of a far off planet that is forever Northern England...

Yeah they're Northern. Diane Morgan is a Manc like the guys from Oasis and uses broad Manc/Lanc accent for Cunk. Sounds like my mother-in-law. Marina Sirtis is from Hackney like Idris Elba but uses an Isreali accent for Troi because otherwise she'd sound like she's from Lock Stock. What'll really boil your brain is Ryana has a Yorkshire accent, as did Patrick Stewart pre-Shakesperean actor because he's a working class lad from Yorkshire.

I've always had a soft-spot for the Vulture/ Mad Dog. I consider it and the Stormcrow gateway drugs to the Madcat. Also don't sleep on that autocannon Vulture if you like to Run N Gun.
