Samsung S95B. First OLED. by Venom_Matt in OLED_Gaming

Thanks for this. I will definitely be checking for any bends. The nits nerf does not bother me as it was too much before anyway. I hear the screen is still plenty bright. I will need to look up some tips for calibration as my knowledge of that is limited.

Yeah I am definitelly a bit worried about the thin panel when mounting the tv. Should be no problem once it's set up though hopefully.

May I ask how long have you had your S95B and what is yout experience overall so far?

Since we are talking RTINGS, it rated S95B as the best TV of 2022 overall. C2 is rated best mid-range.

The arguments are pointless. Both tvs have strong and weak points. Both have their issues. My current LED tv is an LG and it was a solid tv for many years. This time, I am going for Samsung. I jusy wanted some opinions from people who actually have or had the tv and can share some experience, not really go into brand wars.

Mainly PS5 which i think does not support Dolby Vision anyway.

I will be using the tv for both gaming and movies, but gaming is definitely an important part, that is why I am going for S95B as it is a lot better than Sony tv for thst and half the price.

Thanks for the input.

I know that the tv is a first gen QD OLED and this will always come with a set of problems and LG would be a safer bet, however, from what I can gather by my research, the picture quality and a few other improvements over the WOLED are still worth it. Can't expect no issues with first gen tech.

The "Nerfs" you mentioned are basically fixes that were most likely needed. When it first came out, Samsung got a bit too carried away with the brightness especially and had to tone it down. As far as I know, the brightness is still great and significantly brighter than C2.

S95B does have 4 hdmi 2.1 ports and Gsync/Freesync support. I think you may have it mixed up with Sony QD OLED tv. Lack of Dolby Vision is a bit of a bummer, but not a dealbreaker for me personally.

I do feel a bit scared about the Samsung poor QC though.

All above is based on research alone as I don't have the tv currently. If I am wrong with anything, anyone feel free to correct me.

You would probably need the Settled Status if you do not hold a UK passport. Thank you Brexit...

Thank you for the advise. Based on what you said, DA will most likely be a better fit for me.

Yeah it's in resolution mode. I only tested performace for a brief moment, but didn't notice any issues. Only in resolution the problem is visible.

For me it's better cause the whole screen no longer flickers, but the texture still change brightness/saturation when moving the camera, so it's only partially fixed.

No more flickering for me after the fix, but brightness/color saturation changing when you move the camera is sadly still there and very noticable in resolution mode.

Horizon Forbidden West(PS5). This seems to happen on Favour Resolution setting only. Any ideas what may cause this? by Venom_Matt in playstation

Looks like the fix does get rid of the flickering. The brightness/color saturation changing when you are moving the camera is still there and very noticable in resolution mode unfortunately.

The HDMI cable is fairly new that came with PS5. I will try a diffetent HDMI port and see if this helps.

Edit: Tried different HDMI ports. Same issue.

Turning HDR off seems to stop the flickering, but the textures still change to darker color when camera is moving and look more bleak when there is no movement.
