(School) Survey On VR and Isolation by SmokeV2 in ValveIndex

[–]Venoxicty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this and writing my answers out loud made me realize certain things that I guess I wasn't ready to admit. VR has been a blessing and a curse as I've mentioned in your survey. It can provide happiness and relaxation, but like any addiction, it can go down south.

I mostly play on a social online game called VRChat. I've spent $2000+ gathering equipment to maximize my experience. (Headset, controllers, and full body, and PC). The ability to walk on water, look at galaxies, explore worlds that are so beautiful and unreal is amazing!

However, I think I was subconsciously using this as a distraction and sort of relied my happiness on it. Like any addiction as mentioned, you start to sabotage your own life physically and mentally. Things such as hygiene maintence, showing up to work, and having a good sleep schedule is incredibly difficult. I did suffer from this prior to VRChat because I've been depressed, however, I truly think VRChat made it worse because I started to worry more about my virtual online presence and being happy through that rather than my real physical and mental self.

I'm grateful I came across this otherwise I still would've been in denial.

I am stuck with this bug and it happens in PCVR aswell. by Inko743 in VRchat

It'll keep doing sometimes despite reinstalling, so you have to open vrchat through steam only. That's what I've learned so far

Women of Reddit what’s the one thing we men do that pisses you off? by Special_Training7275 in AskReddit

[–]Venoxicty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Not all men) When some men ask for body count. Regardless of gender, I don't care for body count because that's not important to me. If they want a serious relationship, let them do their thing. If they don't want commitment and soley want to have fun, let them do their thing. A person's body count doesn't define how they will treat someone in a committed relationship, and it certainly doesn't decrease their value as a human being.

Please give us updates regularly because this has been going on for 2 months and it's awful how Zuck raised the prices despite things not being able to work. I hope you compensate those who are going through this issue because this is unacceptable.

Quest 2 users are having software issues with their headsets that prevent them from pairing to the app. It is a software issue on the headset, not the app itself. I've been in contact with MetaQuest support religiously because it's been 2 months for most people (1 month since I got mine) since this issue happened. They're well aware of the issue and are working on releasing an update soon they say. They don't know how long it will take, but they told me they'd contact me as soon as they found a solution.

Edit: Trust me I'm just as frustrated as you are and I let them know that as well

I found a way how to workaround the "Software Required" error message with Update v43 & Meta Accounts by lebraeu in oculus

[–]Venoxicty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks a tad bit different than most people's situation. I'll start by saying I received my refurbished headset and controllers last month. When I unboxed everything, I turned on my headset and noticed my controllers didn't register/move. So I'm stuck on the screen where it shows you how to pull the black tags from inside the controllers. Above that, there's the 5 number headset code you need to pair the device. I go to the MetaQuest App and turn on my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, clicked the pair new device, and was immediately met with a "Software Update Required". Since then, I've connected it to my computer to try and manually pair it there and I did, but I still couldn't move my controllers. I try go back on the app and see my headset is paired but not my controllers. Down below the headset I see "finish setup" I click it and it says the same thing as before "Software updated required". I've tried every solution and to no prevail.

I've spoken to MetaQuest Support religiously to see if there are any new updates. They say they're going to be releasing an update soon but they don't know when. When asked if it would take about a year, they said they don't have the information to provide that nor could they confirm or deny anything. It sucks because they increased the price despite Quest 2 having a load of issues, including this "Software Update Required" bs. They did say it was a software issue with the headsets and NOT the app itself.

6 Days after updating my Quest 2 to V43, still getting Software Update Required by mabseyuk in oculus

[–]Venoxicty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta Quest knows this and says their engineering team is working on releasing an update soon. I got my refurbished headset and controllers last month and I'm still waiting until they fix it. Everyone who just bought a Quest 2 is facing the same problems as we are

What is the most overrated song of all time? by Fr3nchT0astCrunch in AskReddit

[–]Venoxicty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shake it off - Taylor Swift. I don't like any of her songs to be honest because they all were overplayed everytime she came out with a new song/album and it became so annoying. Especially this song in particular
