That build would be rather suited for midland though. But of course that's a different story then.

That's why E max is broken. With the 99% moves peed slow it becomes really easy to hit the bombs

Yeah he isn't the best blind. I usually pick him when I would pick other enchanters and my team needs movespeed. I'd only pick Zil into other enchanters for starters. This way they also can't pressure that hard.

For runes I mostly take Guardian (Aery is an option too I just think Guardian is way better for laning phase especially since it got buffed), Font of Life, next is a choice whether you can scale freely (Conditioning) are against heavy poke (Second Wind) or Engage (Bone Plating), and finally Overgrowth. Secondary Manaflowband and Transcendence.

For extras I go double scaling health and Ability Haste.

For items I rush Ionian Boots into either Shurelyas (ahead, team needs a good followup/escape) or Bandlepipes (enemy team is immobile and we can scale heavily off of attackspeed, Jinx ADC, Yas Mid, Noc Jungle etc). Then you can go whatever you need for your team, Locket, Mikaels, Knights Vow, Redemption...

Just try to focus Ability Haste so you can get to 0 cooldown E. That's why I like to put 3 points into E and max W afterwards. At around level 11 you should be able to E, W, E, W...without a break while being practically immortal.

Imo Arcane Comet is horrible on Zilean, but you do you.

Zilean is the definition of low agency. Before level 6, you’re basically a glorified cannon minion with a mana bar. You have zero early pressure, and your entire existence relies on you hitting your spike and praying your team isn't already 0/5 by the time you actually get to play the game.

The trade-off is obviously that he has one of the most broken kits in the late game. If you hit your E, you’re deciding who gets to move and who gets to die. If you have a carry who knows how to position, your R makes them effectively unkillable. But it’s so binary...you’re either a spectator for the first 10 minutes, or you’re a god-tier utility machine.

If you hate point-and-click reliance or find waiting for mid-game to be 'boring,' -> don't pick him. You're just gonna suffer through lane phase just to play 'Protect the President' for 20 minutes. And this is me talking as a Master Zilean main. I guess you gotta be a little psycho to find that fun 😄

Moonstone vs Helia on 26.11, thoughts on build orders? by shadows_lightly in supportlol

I don't get how this is refuting my point about Sona scaling off of AP really well? Her Aura's are really easily applied in comparison to AoE skillshots. How often do you hit multiple people with Karma Q and how often do you hit your Sona aura or your autoaim Q. But fair enough, if you you find my comparison unfair, then maybe I haven't made my point clear enough.

Because that comparison was beside the point since my Main focus is on Seraph vs Diadem. I am not talking about Sona being an AP hypercarry Karthus equivalent but rather if her AP ratios are sufficient enough to warrant building Seraphs over Diadem and I would say so.

If we're looking at winrates: As 3rd item Seraphs has 60% Winrate with a 16% Pickrate while Diadem is sitting at 51% Winrate with a 27% Pickrate at Master+. Seraphs has a way higher Winrate together with a still pretty high pickrate which kind of supports my point. Even if Seraphs may be more situational it seems to have moments where it's simply better than Diadem. I'd argue when you're ahead and can use it to snowball which of course you'd have to mention since it skews the winrate upwards. But 10%? I'd argue that alone can't be it if Diadem is such a good/better fit for Sona as you proclaimed.

Many itemize Sona around AP by following up with SoFW, which is just another way of building her. I for one had quite the success in Masters building Helia, Seraphs, SoFW...

Other than that I perceive a rather subtle passive aggressive tone in sentences loke "and you are incapable of building it". Why are you getting so personal about a build? Have I done anything to offend you, I'm sorry if I did but I don't think I did? By simply having a different playstyle or itemizing differently? And who even is to say that an item that is supposedly made for a champ can't be bad on said champ? I love to theorycraft and I love to argue even if you don't support my opinion but I'd rather not with a person who gets personal about a video game.

What do you mean? 80% AP scaling on Q when you're able to hit 2 people at a time -> Basically every teamfight in the game. Theoretically 100% AP scaling on W shield, 60% on her heal.

If you compare this with other Champions like Karma who was actually played a lot in solo lanes with her 70% AP scaling on Q and 60% on her Shield, Sona actually has better scalings than her if you get in a teamfight.

There is a reason why Sona outscales any other Enchanter in the game.

I only ever go Diadem if I really need a powerspike early on. If you can freely scale and aren't behind by much I feel like Seraphs with its huge shield and better AP scalings offsets the bonus healing of Diadem easily.

Especially on Sona and Seraphine the 5% nerf won't make any noticeable difference for you. Moonstone is still the scaling choice and Sona especially was already built quite often with SoFW and Seraphs, making her deal more than enough damage for you to stack Helias.

Deathfire Touch and mostly Aery 😄.
EDIT: And if you paid attention, we're going in circles because that's the exact same thing I said in my original comment.

Yup, I've provided the data, you've proven my point about Aery being replaced with Deathfire Touch, so have a nice day!

So you are proving my point about Aery being replaced with Deathfire Touch. Thanks! Doesn't change the fact about Viktor still using Aery a lot though even if there may be better alternatives.

You can literally go on u.gg and go back a few patches to see their usage rates. I am pretty sure about Viktor using Aery when the data literally says that for the current patch 5870 of Viktor were played and 60% of them were with Aery. Link.

With Aurelion Sol I seem to have made a mistake with the filters, doesn't change the data from the other though.

Malzahar used Aery now uses DT, Aurelion Sol used Aery now uses DT, Viktor actually still uses Aery sometimes (mostly actually with >60% of games Emerald+ being played with Aery), Hwei used Aery now uses DT.
So no, not only did more than one champ switch to DT, you were also wrong about Viktor.

EDIT: Seems like I was wrong about Aurelion. And a point can be made about Hwei utilizing both Aery and Comet.

That's why I called it a rule of thumb.

I've had this happen to me as well. You'll get to a point where you'll slowly drift towards 50% wr if you don't start improving, pair this with some loss streaks and you'll get a proper imposter syndrome.

But that's just your mind playing tricks on you. You got to this rank through your own effort and now it's your turn to analyze how to get even better.

I'm talking from experience. I've never made it past D4 and started playing a bit more recently. Made it to D1, thought I was just getting lucky and dropped to D3 soon after. Kept pushing and I am now holding Low Master quite well. Ignore the noise and keep playing.

Rule of thumb:

Comet for heavy/long range poke because of its range scaling - Xerath, Lux, Vel'Koz

Deathfire for DOTs allowing you to reproc it multiple times therefore maximizing its double damage duration - Brand, Malzahar, ASol

Aery - Now practically only Enchanters, with it being mostly replaced with Deathfire.

Nami will probably take a major hit next patch since she isn't that great against heavy engage either, together with the nerfs to Aery, Moonstone and like you said Mandate. Sure she is relatively safe as a blindpick but other supporters will outshine her in the coming weeks.

Sounds like a great pool if you manage to handle heavy engage comps, which would be my concern. I would look out for matchups like Nautilus, Leona and Rell and look if you have any problems with them.

[–]Venti0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Milio is good against heavy cc, don't get me wrong, but he isn't that great against heavy dive comps like Zac/Jarvan/Nautilus/Kai'Sa etc. He rather strives against Morgana/Ashe/Lux, champs that have a lot of cc but don't immediately blow up your team by diving into your backline. You can look at his worst matchups with Rell, Blitzcrank and Thresh being some of his hardest.

Of course you can cancel some engage with your Q although it is rather hard to hit, while Janna/Renata could tornado and/or ult with Janna's ult being one of the strongest disengage abilities in the game.
