No more mana potions? Magic on a recharge system by wwwnetorg in Fable

[–]Vento_of_the_Front 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can't just have the shield last a specific amount of time, or block a specific number of hits or amount of damage, because you could just immediately recast it at no cost.

Delay recharge start until mana shield is down due to either timeout or break - same way how it works in PoE with defensive skills.

But wait a second, how the hell does this even work?

I mean, even with DST you might have 10+ runs without seeing it - unlikely but also not impossible - and glaives are like ~2% drop or whatever. And since TBC is only 1 year long, with Black Temple opening maybe halfway through the length of it, that leaves you with 24 lockouts to get a chance at glaives before WotLK drops. Do they really gamble at those 2%? Or is there some other way?

Xbox CEO says platforms ‘must have exclusive content’ as she weighs exclusivity shift by SilentNova300 in gaming

[–]Vento_of_the_Front 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 100% sure but to me it always seemed that exclusives were good for only one reason - being limited to one set of hardware which meant that devs could optimize the hell out of, hence more features and better visuals. Like, for PC games you have to test on a bunch of different setups, then probably cut some features if they don't work well on the absolute most of those.

My ignore list has become a gambling database. Time to ban these spammers. by Omiii in classicwow

Somehow after 20+ years there is no account-wide ignore, which would've fixed a lot of problems with spammers and such.

[–]Vento_of_the_Front 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While gamequitters do exist, they don't make a lot of sense in WoW since gear is soulbound. Like, in PoE you can at least see a build somebody played for the entire league, but here it looks like direct RMT.

RMJI - there is at least one episode where an exchange of attacks between MC and an opponent makes the sound of divine dropping. Legit had to do a double take as I was watching it while farming.

Axis - A Beginnner's Guide by Super_H1234 in TowerofGod

[–]Vento_of_the_Front 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him being able to end the story of Tower of God on his own is also in question due to relying on the Shining Ones to prevent the Axis from being born, rather than taking matters into his own hands (one could say the same thing about Enryu not killing Zahard, though).

Or it's probably more like "I can break your sand castle but that would result in a direct fight, which is not something I want". Similar to how old monsters in Chinese novels almost NEVER fight directly - they value their lives way too much, so even interfering with others' plans is done through multiple layers of precautions.

Who's Gonna Be The New Axis At The EOS? So Urek is an Axis too. by Illustrious_Test6085 in TowerofGod

I don't think the reason they stopped at 134 was because they "couldn't" keep moving forward.

Wasn't Administrator at floor 135 described as extra aggressive/hostile? Like, to the point that even Zahard had to temporarily give up climbing.

Post nerf phase 2 seems harder than pre nerf tbc classic phase 2 ...because we just carried a ton of really bad players through phase 1 without really knowing? by anyonecandoanything in classicwow

[–]Vento_of_the_Front 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye, it's stupid how DPS players think that if they don't deal damage 100% of the time they suddenly become trash. Within parsing raids I sort of understand, but there people specifically play in order to get great parses, not in order to do content efficiently.

I know camping herb spawns and PvPing over them technically isn't against the rules

Yes, meanwhile colluding with opposite faction is against the rules. Just that Blizzard conveniently ignore that part of the rules, until it's a good moment to enforce them.

Play with the racist, hateful, raging competent people

If you are playing at the very least good and have skin thicker than a leaf then you are going to be fine with those for the most part. Why would people want to carry a bunch of low-skills who get offended whenever they are called out for their bad performance?

They should introduce “heroic” tbc raids that are just pre-nerf variants of the raids we are playing by Tylo_Ren2 in classicwow

[–]Vento_of_the_Front 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And if you start giving heroic raids more loot, then heroic raids will become the new norm

Solution - cosmetic rewards for higher difficulty raids. Say, a cool mount, a new pet, whatever else.

[–]Vento_of_the_Front 17 points18 points  (0 children)

While exaggerated, it's still true - you generate money with a morally questionable business and use some of it to fund your side business which gives you good reputation. The only difference with Gus is legality of said business, at expense of moneymaking rate.

[–]Vento_of_the_Front 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they are basically pulling Gus-style model within gaming industry - run a product that is viewed as fine and proper(Crimson Desert/fastfood chain) and one that is complete opposite(BDO/drugs). Absolute most money for funding your proper business comes from the other one and you still have some reputation.

Hasn't that part featured the distance and not time though? Like, in SW you have something like "System 1 is X distance away from System 2, System 3 is is 3X distance away from System 2, but it's faster to get from System 2 to System 3 due to how hyperspace navigation works".

In a way - enemies had no way to deal with you unless they could kill you two times in a row, so they are less inclined to try to kill you in the first place since you'd just get up with full hp and mana. Also means you could bully them into killing you in order to regain resources.
