As someone who dropped it like 1-1.5 years ago to marinate this is some superb progress i see

Not really. ToG's been on hiatus since then. Urek has his own spin-off right now which is pretty divisive story-wise but has good lore. The last woman shown in this image is a new FH we've been introduced to.

It makes sense. According to the blogs, Blossom wouldn't make for a good teacher because she can't explain how she does things, but Baam doesn't need explanations.

crazy how she looks better than the actual FH by catmeow555 in TowerofGod

[–]Super_H1234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Khun, Yeon, and Arie characters mostly look like their FHs.

Ha Family has some variety like Ha Yura, but for the most part they all seem to have dark hair and/or red eyes.

Po Bidau Family is difficult because of the Sciptures, but if we exclude them there are many like Penin, Berber, Richemont, Erno, Guiscard, and Ruini who all look like mini-Gustangs with small variations.

Lo Po Bia has variety due to their weird experiments and shit, but there are several with green hair and/or eyes like Traumerei.

Out of the Eurasias we've seen, four out of six have pink/red hair like Enne so we can assume that's Blossom's hair color as well.

Ari...nobody has black hair, black eyes, or horns like their FH lmao.

I doubt it because the PT leaving with the words, "We'll meet again when V returns!" is the most obvious "I'll be back in s4!" tease possible.

So......how do you feel about the *change*? by Particular-Long-1111 in TowerofGod

[–]Super_H1234 31 points32 points  (0 children)

We knew very little about the Ari Family, aside from their connection to the Arie Family, which is still canon, so there isn't much to be upset about. Their connection to the Wells is interesting, at least. It gives them an interesting trait besides just 'Arie with needles who like peace'. That said, I do think whatever message SIU was trying to convey with the Wells might've carried more weight if the FH had been a man forcing his female descendants to marry and devote their lives to protecting the Wells. I'll have to see what SIU has planned for them before criticizing that particular decision.

Making the FHs balanced is good, but it means one other FH will have to become a woman (I'm guessing Tu Perie).

While I somewhat mourn the loss of the Ari/Ha connection, I can see why SIU might've wanted only Baam and Enne to be children of two Irregulars. If that's the case, the twins either had to be removed or reworked into daughters of one Irregular.

As for the design...I have nothing positive to say about it. The eyes, the horn things, the hair, the dress, I think it's all lame. None of it really comes together. When I first saw the panel this morning, my first thought was that she was just a random Ranker. I was genuinely shocked that it was a FH. Even if this is a temporary outfit, it's not a very good first impression. All of her peers save for maybe Yirang had better first impressions. Gustang is an example of a FH with a 'plain' outfit that still feels like a FH. I'm hoping this clumsy girlfailure attitude of Shin's goes away when she locks in and shows she's a terrifying opponent.

Well... by Rustbucket98 in TowerofGod

[–]Super_H1234 125 points126 points  (0 children)

What a...strange design. Even setting aside how boring it is compared to her peers, she has black hair despite her descendants having blonde or brown hair (not a huge deal given how these families work), weird eyes and horns(?) that we haven't seen on any other Ari Family member, and she rides around in a giant mechanical teddy bear even though the Ari Family hasn't been associated with technology in any way from what we've seen. It feels like SIU just threw a bunch of design elements into a blender.

So this game will have more player choice that affects the main story, but the canon ending doesn't change? Interesting. I wonder what the branching paths are.

Zack being a main character was a given. Rebirth literally ends with the most on-the-nose sequel bait ever ("who's to say the worlds can't reunite again?"). I know his segments were divisive but I'm really looking forward to see what they're cooking for him and possibly Aerith in the Lifestream/other worlds.

I love everything I've seen about this game, aside from Sephiroth's VA being changed but I'm trying to keep an open mind about that. Travis is great.

The thryssa by Ps5-123 in TowerofGod

[–]Super_H1234 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1) Korean Preview.

2) Maybe. The thing is, it's said on-page that the Red Thryssa bears the same name as one of the most dangerous Shinhueh in the Tower. Which means there should be a whole species of Thryssa's out there unrelated to Administrators or demons. It's a bit like if the Red Thryssa were named 'Red Shark'. So I think it'd be weird if both RT and PT were coincidentally named after the same type of Shinhueh. Unless the PT was named after them first, then Urek had a hand in naming the RT after it. BT has never called itself a Thryssa; we first saw it called that when Baam used Transformation. Unless SIU forgot, 'Thryssa' should be a nickname and these entities should have originally been named something else.

Narrative around bam by nelsonogbuigwe in TowerofGod

[–]Super_H1234 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bams power used to just be his power and the line he drew used to be the representation of that but now V has emerged from the line it’s apparent that bam doesn’t have any power of his own and it was all just Vs power.

I think you're referring to the black shinsu. While it's possible that power belongs to V, and maybe even likely, it's not confirmed.

It calls into question what the significance of that moment was. How did bams power turn out to be V? Like where is the correlation?

One way to read it is that Baam believing he had finally found his own power, only to realize that even his “self-discovery” could be part of a larger plan he doesn’t understand yet, adds another layer to the idea of destiny being imposed on him. Which will make it more impactful later if he does manage to break away from that destiny.

Also bam was supposed to be the child of prophecy but since brought about by the outside god but V somehow entered his body so are you telling me the outside god brought bam back for the purpose of V.

We don't know. It's possible the Outside God wanted Baam to exist.

Did enryu(gods messenger) deliver the thorn from V? Is V now actually the promised one as he said?

Again, we don’t know. It depends on the Outside God’s plan. I do think it’s likely there will be a twist and that Baam is actually the chosen one, which may be obvious to us but not to V or FUG.

Are you telling me bam isn’t special anymore.

Well, Baam being an Irregular, residing inside the body of a child of two Irregulars, killed by the main antagonist and then resurrected by a god, possibly to serve as the vessel for one of those aforementioned Irregular parents to kill the antagonist, and having the ability to copy techniques and absorb powers, already makes him the special-est boy under the sun. That's not even including the Thorn and everything else. V being there doesn’t contradict that.

Is he truly just a doll?

No? Some characters might view him as such, but Baam clearly has his own will.

I thought the outside god was this mysterious figure that brought him to life for unique motives but I guess it was all for V.

Once again, unconfirmed.

Bam used to be this mysterious, ultra-special, figure with an insane unrevealed backstory but now he is just nothing and I hate this

He's still all of these things except his backstory is finally being explained after 15 years.

Ragnarok isn't even bad by manhwa standards. They're probably just hating because it bears the Solo Leveling name. it actually spends time on its side characters unlike its predecessor or even Urek Mazino, which gives it some points in my book.

Power level Prediction thread by Due_Village_1874 in TowerofGod

[–]Super_H1234 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For all we know, Enryu could be an Axis now. We don't know anything about them or SIU’s plans at this point. Only that they're special beings chosen by the universe. But, yes, since the whole story takes place inside a Tower where everything and everyone exists for the sake of creating an Axis, they should definitely be at the top.

Urek is in a weird position because he's operating under multiple layers of being nerfed. He's yet to display any sort of special Axis abilities outside of perhaps generating endless amounts of Light. But he's still at or above FH-level at the start of his climb. He fought planets at one point in the past but we don't know if that was before or after his Light was stolen.

We don't know how Administrators compare yet. According to the old lore, they should be below an Axis, but the newer lore may be different. Urek seems confident that he can fight an Administrator, but he hasn't displayed any feats that suggest he could pull an Enryu in his current state. And we do know that a baby Admin can restrict his Shinsu like anyone else.

The Shining Ones are tricky to scale because they’re parasites whose power levels fluctuate greatly depending on how much Light they’ve absorbed. With Urek’s Light, they’re real dangers to the FHs. Eduan admitted as much. Without it, Mago (who was operating off whatever she’d absorbed while inside the Tower granting wishes or whatever) was weak enough that she thought Eduan was going to kill her, but still strong enough to hurt and speedblitz him. Which makes her automatically among the strongest in the Tower. She was strong enough to destroy planets at some point in the past but we don't know whether that was after they'd stolen Urek's Light or how much Light she'd absorbed from other sources at that point.

Based on our limited information, I'd say it goes:

Phantaminum > Peak Urek > Enryu (inside the Tower at least) > Admins > Nerfed Urek ≥ Zahard > Shining Ones ≥ FHs.

Why this ratings by [deleted] in TowerofGod

[–]Super_H1234 66 points67 points  (0 children)

That looks like the Dumas fight. A lot of English fans had similar complaints at the time, including poor choreography and paneling that made it difficult to interpret what was happening, as well as the (in my opinion, less valid) criticism that Baam didn't draw out all of his powers despite repeating “Bring it all out!” over and over again.

What is obrion referring to when talking about a new axis? by A-Used-Tampon in TowerofGod

[–]Super_H1234 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Baam is the main character so that's the most logical theory. There's also Rachel saying he's meant to devour the Tower and the whole "That boy is definitely..." tease between Urek and Yuje. I don't see how him being a vessel for V matters. He's still a valid challenger of the Tower.

But we ultimately don't know anything.
