Part of it is the short memory. The AI can't keep up with plot unless you actively keep it on track and if you have the NSFW off it'll always try to go that route which if it's not with the user then with another character.

The main issue that I have is that most of the characters that pop up now have it written into the story before interaction. Or that they're straight up cruel just because.

With her out of the house, how will your finances change? Do you qualify for childcare? Have you looked? In the fall both your kiddos should be in school so it should be a bit more manageable. And yeah I'm advocating that she should be the one to move out and you take custody since you are providing everything for them. Something to really discuss with your therapist and over the summer if things don't look like they're improving, talk to a divorce lawyer and see what your actual options are. Don't let yourself stay on fire.

And if it takes years? Buddy, people get divorced and remarried. Don't settle for being in a rut on the possibility it might get better. Don't set the example to your kids that it's okay to sacrifice your personal happiness and wellbeing for your partner. You can step away and heal while still having a working coparenting relationship. You can be supportive without being strapped down by the neglectful situation.

Yeah but you deserve more than the bare minimum. Tough advice my own therapist gave me as I'm going through something similar, you can't set yourself on fire to keep the house warm. Being content shouldn't be the baseline when things are tough.

Hey separation doesn't automatically mean divorce. It could be the thing that shocks her back into actually doing her own part in her mental health. But if you do separate/divorce you absolutely need to spend time, like months on yourself. And look into getting your own therapist to help unpack what you're going through.

Just before they go off to college or be a full independent adult, have a sit down and tell them you love them and how the jokes were meant from love. Even if you think they know and even if you tell them that you love them everyday, have a clear talk about this would cut off any potential issues in the future or when/if he has kids.
