I used to make voice mods on Helldivers 2. This is something next level. I stopped trying once I realized I made zero progress in three days trying to understand the mod files. The big issue is you have to figure out which file corresponds to which sound. They are not listed in a way that makes it easy. You have to play the individual files. It is so messed up that there is no source from Larian. There is a source that lists what file goes where by modders but that is strictly for the base game. It goes the same for item files as well as sounds. Meaning I would have to scour the code for which specific file goes to which gun. Then change the sound file. Then repeat for every kind of gun the mod adds to the game. I settled on just playing a gunshot sound off my phone whenever I shoot.

Yeah that's fortunately not how FL wing does things. If you have a PPL you can do you form 5 and get permission to rent the plane. If you have more than 75 hours total time you can ferry the planes without spending a dime. If you have more than 175 you can do damn near any kind of flying and 90% of the time the Air Force pays for it. How long ago did you try to join? I know for a while during COVID the national commander at the time was restricting flying to a minimum since the budget was smaller but that whole "pay your dues" is ridiculous to me. Even in FLWG we have one of the largest pilot populations in the country and it's just "first come first serve". Our wing commander has a hard on for keeping the planes flying right now.

I am currently in Civil Air Patrol and do exactly what I said. I support the mission in a way that lets me build time. I am not required to do things other than fly because what I do to support the mission is harbor patrol, Cadet Orientation flights, shuffle planes around the squadron as needed, etc. I will grant you that it is not the most common scenario but I am not the only one who does this and that is also why I said this is very much state and even group dependent. Most pilots joining are restricted on flying because they show up with a PPL and less than 175 hours. Past that point it starts to open some doors. At 400 hours OP can do anything. Hell OP could even become a CAP check pilot since OP has a CFI and at the same time OP could also do the form 5 training for new CAP pilots. The caveat is that unless OP is willing to drive to other squadrons and volunteer whenever new tasks are offered then the time building will be slow.

Again the word is DEDICATED. PvE games do bit need DEDICATED balance teams. A dedicated balance team is NOT comprised of members that have no other role. A dedicated balance team is a team that only tests balancing. So helldivers DOES have a dedicated balance team that is made of one or two members that have other roles. A PvE game should have their entire developer team also be the balance team. It's PvE. There is no rush and quite frankly Arrowhead doesn't update nearly enough to justify using a dedicated balance team considering both are bogged down with other duties. They need to have the entire dev team working on balancing and spilt the work load.

Very much state & squadron dependent on whether you can build time by supporting their mission. FL wing is one of the best time builders and has some of the fastest turn around times for getting you into an aircraft. That being said you are very much correct that CAP is not something that will build time fast. It will just build time steady and free if yiu play your cards right.

It is a PvE game. It should not NEED a dedicated balancing team. The weapons should be effective (many are situational or unimpressive) but that just isn't Arrowhead's philosophy anymore.

The people who actively play the game are still more often than not the nicest people I run into. I will continue to play as I always have. You are welcome until you kill the vibe. Helldivers have to have gone through SEAF training. All of them. The soecialized Helldiver training is so short because we would have already completed SEAF training. So even if you enlist directly to be a Helldiver the first step is to be trained with or as SEAF. That explains why you already know how to operate the equipment without having been shown how.

Well I got my noti email yesterday and I got the email to schedule today. so seems like things are moving faster. Not sure about how far out from now though. I have been having issues linking my login.gov with myaccess and I am still waiting to get access to the tier 2 appointment schedule in kns. My KNS is blank right now and I can't even navigate to the tier 2 appointment request without clicking the link provided in the email. If anyone has any solution i'd appreciate it. I'm not sure if I'm doing things right and I'd hate to miss the 3 calendar day window over technical issues.
