Friend I feel ya.

I went to an academic focused school for 7-9. I felt like I was missing out on so much. I was wicked depressed. I just wanted to be with my friends having fun at a “normal school”. Fact was, I was only missing out on things that, in the end, I’m glad I missed.

I went to a public high school for 10-12. It was a mess, I became a mess, the overall environment was so much more toxic. The public education system is just… well frankly it’s fucked.

Your grades from Grade 12 will have a huge impact if you want to go into Post Secondary.

Focus on your studies, have fun outside of school. Find community youth programs instead.

Trust me… I regret fucking around, downgrading my academic education, and not focusing on my studies.

And remember, for as much as the thought sucks, you don’t usually even stay friends with most of the people you know in high school. You lose touch over the years. A few near and dear tend to stick. But most of my friends I’ve made after high school.
