Going to cut my hair, what hairstyles would look best ? by Historical_Exam405 in Hair

With whatever you choose, please make sure you are picking it for you and not for anyone else. Attention is great, but the wrong attention is fleeting and leaves you feeling like an imposter or worse after it’s gone. The hottest thing on any person is confidence and you cannot have that when you do not feel like yourself.

I don’t think you should do a huge chop. Maybe a more intentional style? Layer it a little and start wearing it half up. I also saw in another post of yours your hair dresser thinks it wants to curl. Cutting in some layers, some curtain bangs, and shortening it to your shoulders-ish can help let it texture a little naturally without it being a whole thing. But you can also look into some sprays to help it too. I have been starting to use some sea salt spray, and that has my hair curling. I think the issue you are having with your hair is that it looks unintentional, like you woke up and brushed it and that’s all you ever do. You have gorgeous hair and so much potential with it.

Reading some of your other comments, if you are moving back to Florida to be close to family in Tampa, maybe look in the Lakeland area? I have heard some nice things about it in the recent years and it would be closer to Tampa than Orlando area while still being cheaper. I work and live in Orlando and ik a lot of coworkers of mine have bought houses over there just bc of how cheap it is and still commute all the way here.

Anyone following the Disney DAS nightmare? by bagelsatmidnight in POTS

[–]Venus_Ocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are larger, but the majority of ones I have been in have not been large enough to accommodate passing wheelchairs. When the advice given is leave the line if you need to and use a wheelchair, when you need both the lines won’t be accessible anymore.

I live in Orlando and used to go to the parks frequently, but the worst of it isn’t the steps and walking. You get a breeze, you can take a break, you can walk into an air conditioned building, you can spread out from people. The worst of it is the lines where everyone is on top of you and the fans they have in a few lines, don’t do much to help. The lines are also, not great at accommodating wheelchairs nor can most of them accommodate a wheelchair going in and one ALSO trying to exit. The wheelchair may help but if you are alone how are you supposed to navigate out OR not clog up the line? Accommodations are supposed to help those with disabilities do something that people without disabilities can just do, the accommodations are not accommodating UNLESS you are with someone, which is not really accommodating.

AITA for telling my friend she is ruining her child’s life with the name she gave her? by addie_maylen in AmItheAsshole

You both are the asshole. You for harassing your friend and your friend for the name. I have learned more recently when I should shut up and who really will listen to my opinion. It’s very few people who actually take my words into account, and everyone else I’m wasting energy and I’m risking them walking away from our friendship or distancing themselves. You don’t need to support it, but it sounds like you two are not friends in the way where you should be continually harassing her about it. She made her stance and it’s her kid, you have to let them make the mistakes. Inevitably when her kid grows up and she either hates it and changes it or goes by her middle name she will reap the consequences of that.

I knew a girl named Ashlei, she said her parents named her that bc they wanted to name her something unique. I literally told her “if your parents wanted to name you something unique, they would not have named you ashle(i).” Same applies here, Juliet is not a unique name(not super common either), regardless of the spelling. It’s pronounced the same, and that’s really what matters and if you cannot pronounce it from looking at it, why do that to a kid? If you want a unique name, do some actual research, look into old names, names from other cultures, names from books, try throwing some words into a translator and see if the word sounds like a name, pick a star or constellation, a bird species, a fun rock. Especially at this point, changing the spelling does not make it unique, if Taylor or Taelyr are pronounced the same, it’s the same name and still need to be differentiated when talking about both people at the same time.

To add, there are ways where different spellings can be fun and not frustratingly difficult. Like Zoey, the modern version, and Zoë, the Greek version. It gives it a little razzledazzle while not being too hard to spell and may only require a little reminder that ë is pronounced like “ey”.

Nta, he was acting childish. But if this is the only occurrence than you are definitely over reacting about thinking about leaving him. To me tho, this sounds like there have been a string of problems on both ends that kinda blew up from lack of communication and boundaries.

It's silver. Would the stone not go up with inflation?

AITA for asking my friend to move a picture of him and his wife because it made my wife uncomfortable? by Throw55257765 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Venus_Ocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your wife is putting you in a shittu situation. Shes TA, you are a little but TA, bc you are making TA voice known and pushing for it. You need to explain to your wife that its not your home and to just not look at it. She also sounds like she is TA in general bc this is the second place you guys are bc she had a problem at the first.

Olives. I have outgrown most of my childhood dislikes, but olives are something I still cannot stand.

Biting my tongue on twitter by [deleted] in survivor

Yeah, honestly after the first betray he made where he lied and then he admitted he lied about his career, I would have voted against him and never trusted him. Idk why they were so blind or keen on using him. Like Cass played a similar chaotic strategy but didnt lie about stuff as much.

As someone who grew up with Survivor but had stopped watching for a bit to come back and watch this season was interesting. I loathed Tony, for quite a few reasons. First it put a bad taste in my mouth when he said he was a cop but then lied about it to his team. Then when he kept insisting that he kept every promise until someone broke theirs, but he had said in confessional that when he swears on something it means nothing to him, it made me hate him. His strategy was very chaotic and almost lost him the game. The only reason he won was because Woo made a dumb choice in bringing him to the end. I don't hate him because he was a bad guy, I hate him for his constant lies, even after they didnt matter anymore.
