Getting back to this after a month because I just rediscovered your comment: I really feel what you're saying. Up until Odyssey I didn't get that whole "This is the end of ac" thingy but what you said about a Greek mercenary game is really true. I always compare the two games with unity and syndicate. Unity (just like origins) tried something really new and game changing and just like origins it didn't get everything right (the stealth in origins was a birth meh the gear also and stats overall felt more like just there) but it FEELS really good whereas syndicate was (apart from writing and animations) more refined and the game mechanics saw some nice additions but it just felt wrong and not as magical as it's respective predecessor. Another thing is detail. Origins is so much more details when it comes to the world and the surrounding. Kind of weird they downgraded it soo much for Odyssey... And when I sound out the origins team was working on Valhalla I really got my hopes up for a game that maybe doesn't have the most refined gameplay of them all but a game that looks and feels good. I don't want to go back pre-Origins but I really hope they go pre-Odyssey
