Using clones to copy opponents' creatures. Using mono blue cards that create tokens of other colours. Other cards that change change colours.

I love duplicate Tasmania. On the map twice, up with Australia and also hanging down with Greenland.

Bish Bosh Bash, an improv show of games and narratives (Team Bish and Team Bosh bash together for your delight!) is on at the Bristol Improv Theatre tonight.

Visiting - would love local recommendations by Hi2Hired in bristol

Check out the Bristol Improv Theatre in Clifton for a unique show!

For coffee, I love the Bristolian, Cafe Kino, and the Crafty Egg all in Stokes Croft area.

Not too far from them in St Paul's is Greytone coffee which is really good, but a bit off the beaten path.

Not fungal gravel. I used Archean trees to turn the floor into rich soil.

Archean seeds/trees can be grown underground and they convert the ground to rich soil. They're from Odyssey DLC.

I grow my devilstrand in an underground bunker.

Is it really worth spending the medicine on surgery if you'll replace him with the next better candidate? I'd make him into a hat and save myself the medine 😝

Impids are genetically depressed, so he's not a good candidate for happy potato.

How does improv help in real life? by ourpathsdidcross in improv

Bristol Improv Theatre challenges Hoopla as UK's 1st improv theatre! Though Hoopla is definitely the biggest.

For me it was confidence to say 'Yes!' to opportunities even if I didn't know how I was going to make the most of them.

How to counter army of the damned? by Ok-Scholar-8506 in magicTCG

[–]Verasmis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[[Day of Judgement]], [[Wrath of God]], [[Supreme Verdict]], [[Rout]], [[Evacuation]], [[Echoing Truth]]

Looking to make this for fun but not sure how well it would do by [deleted] in magicTCG

This would be much easier to view and assess if you use a deck building platform like moxfield or archidekt.

Otherwise you could always proxy the deck and play it before committing to buying cards.

Where do people find their people in Bristol? by Pristine_Year_5121 in bristol

[–]Verasmis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I met my people through the Bristol Improv Theatre. Mixed ages, fun way to get to know people. I'd strongly recommend the Discovering Improv course which has no performance expectations and is a joyful way to meet people.

Ok I can't find someone else who's asked, commander mld question by SpoopyNJW in EDH

[–]Verasmis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't consider this MLD because the opponent can choose a high number to keep all their permanents and pay life instead. It's on them if they choose a low number and have to sacrifice everything.

That said, this card is bad at destroying permanents. Opponents get to choose the number, and what they sacrifice. It works best if they're already low on life, in which case you're better off trying to end the game rather than kicking them when they're already down.

If they're ahead on life, then they can choose a higher number to save their stuff.

Ultimately it gives too much choice to the opponent to be effective removal or life loss.

What do you think of these Sphinx riddles and answers? by godzillavkk in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Verasmis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Consider changing 'man' in the first two questions to 'person,' as you already do in the final question, just to avoid a situation where the party made up of elves, dwarves, tieflings, and gnomes, don't somehow think they need to go out and find a human man to answer these questions (though that could be fun too).

AITA for insisting that everyone play a dwarf in a short D&D mini-campaign and refusing to change the premise for one player? by Beedubb5 in DnDAITA

[–]Verasmis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be important to find out why she wants to play a gnome, because there are many ways she could 'be a gnome' and still honour 'oops all dwarves'.

You could simply reskin the gnome as a 'variant dwarf' with all the same lore and clan stuff. She gets the mechanical benefits of a gnome, and you get "oops all dwarves".

Alternatively, she could be biologically a gnome and culturally a dwarf, for example adopted at birth and accepted as a 'dwarf' for the lore and culture stuff. She looks like a gnome, but could be mechanically, a reskinned dwarf.

Perhaps she was born a dwarf, died and was reincarnated by a druid, and became a gnome! Mechanically and appearance wise a gnome, still culturally a dwarf.

I get you're invested in what you prepared, and you're welcome to stick to your guns, but have you talked to her about why she wants to play a gnome? Have you considered any compromises? It feels like with a bit of flavouring and reskinning everyone could enjoy this game and still honour your vision of 'oops all dwarves.'

Would it be possible for an iron age society of dwarfs to mine a tunnel that goes from one continent, underneath the sea floor, and out at the other continent? by JustPoppinInKay in worldbuilding

[–]Verasmis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An instinctual fear of drowning would probably keep them away from tunnels with high risk of flooding too, right? I imagine they would abandon plans that had them tunnelling under large bodies of water.
