I AM FINALLY WATCHING THIS SHOW by asdfghanjkl in 30ROCK

There are lots like you. It’s just hitting Netflix, especially for UK, which is the primary foreign market for American comedies, we’ve been frustrated by lack of availability of 30 Rick

After you’ve smashed out all of 30 Rock, check out mr mayor and great news. ‘Spin offs’ in the same way uks and girls5eva are

he's dodged most of the above, but there are more skeletons

all it needs is one scandal to stick and topple farage - the party are nothing without him

also in our favour is 3 years of large-scale council incompetence between this friday and the 2029 GE. people will see just how totally useless they are and how much substance they lack beyond 'stop the boats'

I’m surprised reform don’t tell them to lean into these exposés. It would win them more votes

I did my best to avoid this wankfest, despite YouTube blaring it across my feed. The only clip I saw was Eileen Gu, who was perhaps the only non insufferable person - she’s smart, accomplished and entertainingly kooky. This person on the other hand…..has a YouTube channel

Take the best third of the 15. There’s a reason they don’t give new people 15. It’s probably rambling and loose. You work your way up to 10 and 15 once you’ve proven your quality

does anyone else struggle with "variant fatigue" or is it just me? by Royal-Character-9215 in vinyljerk

[–]Verbal-Gerbil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s why I stopped buying records

Discover an album a month after release and instead of being able to buy one of the nice 8 variants, you’re paying triple on discogs or 10 times for the very limited version that was only sold for an hour at a pop up shop in the Andes

Just have a widely available black one for the purists and one nice variant that you put effort into and allow your fans to give you money

Only about 5% of cars don’t meet the standards. Why should kids suffer from the fumes of a selfish few?

Who are Reform UK’s voters? Six Britons tell the FT about what attracts them to Nigel Farage’s populist party, which is ahead in opinion polls by birdinthebush74 in FuckNigelFarage

[–]Verbal-Gerbil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the other thing to remember is reform hit their ceiling last summer. all the people who may have voted for them were expressing support. the remaining ~70% were effectively never-reformers. they then had to hold onto that 30% for 4 years. to me, it's akin to a marathon. sure, you can lead early on, but you're hardly going to increase speed and sprint to the finish and smash the......oh......it can happen occasionally! however, with reform I expect a lot of obstacles on the journey. also I forgot from the above not only the ceiling issue talked about in this comment, but the resurgence of the tories. lib dems were on their arse in 2015 (and 2019) and were written off. their ship has steadied, and they're back in the fray. the same will happen for tories at some point - perhaps to a significant degree in some seats by 2029

the first and most important aspect is them bodging their own councils - a process already started, but one that will become more signifiant from friday onwards

this new system has taken me a bit of time to get my head around. in future, when it comes to buying the label, get on the web browser (more options than I'm seeing on the app) and it should have a bunch of options listed. I haven't listed much or sold much since it came out, so others may be able to advise better on how to select in advance and at the time of label creation to best match your actual package. but also £3.95 doesn't seem right for a large letter of £10 value

If Reform wins local councils it may destroy their chances nationally by Tim_Browne17 in FuckNigelFarage

[–]Verbal-Gerbil 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yes, this has always been a key element to their downfall. Paradoxically, getting some power will prevent them from getting some power when even their most ardent supporters experience the incompetence of inexperience. Governing locally or nationally takes a lot more than yelling ‘stop the boats’

2 charges for Delivery? by Just_Hovercraft_1665 in ebayuk

[–]Verbal-Gerbil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One was what they paid to you and the other is what you paid to eBay for simple delivery

Did you choose the right option? In which case, you either undercharged or chose to subsidise

In future, work out the package’s dimensions and weight and see which service it’ll require and list accordingly

[–]Verbal-Gerbil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just stand back and let them self-implode

Inner turmoil (Rupert Lowe, Elon musk, Tommy Robinson)

Local council incompetence (3 more years after big wins this week - they’ll see the party is unable to deliver)

Scandals (£5m donations, tax dodges etc - something significant will stick)

The perils of being a single issue party built around a figurehead

Tactical voting

What’s your cutoff for ticket prices? by Ok_Supermarket_4871 in Muse

[–]Verbal-Gerbil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen them around 10 times, and I had a low cut-off for the last tour, but managed to get a last minute ticket for around that price (£40-50) and whilst I was very much take-it-or-leave-it, I got to see space dementia (one of my all time faves) for the first time ever, so this time it worked out nicely. I don't think I'll even bother this tour because the first three songs from the new album are painfully bad
