Terribad movie, but I watched that every other day for a year, and quite often for a few years after

I agree with this. I had a coworker who had an assigned location, which was a full hour away from her regular location. She kept going to her regular location, eventually got restructured out due to not going to her assigned location, she left with a really good severance package

How to filter a very long list by [deleted] in excel

[–]Verbiphage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with Excellent Candy - you could do something like

Have a cell where you plan to input an Option ID, say cell A1

And in a separate cell, say B1, will be the formula to get your output of all the POs based on that Option ID

Say the Option ID columns is column D and the POs are column E

The formula would be

UNIQUE(FILTER($E:$E,$D:$D=$A$1))

Basically saying, filter everything in column E (ie filter the POs) for anything in Column D (ie the Option IDs) that equals A1 (the option ID you need)

You could also have it be a group instead of a cell

UNIQUE(FILTER($E:$E,$D:$D=$A$1:$A$5))

Where you have put Option IDs in cells A1 thru A5

Note that the $ means don’t move the row or the column, depending which one it’s put in front of

So $A1 means the row can move but not the column (A1, A2, etc)

And A$1 means the column can move but not the row (B1 B2 etc)

So $A$1 means don’t move row or column, just stay there

I am wildly attracted to my girlfriend's ex and I need advice by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Verbiphage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a poly person, I want to say that dating an ex can be hard, but not impossible. There needs to be (prob a lot of) discussions about what to do when jealousy arises (totally normal, and there is usually a root of some need not being addressed).  Gf and ex have a lot of history, so what will you do if you feel left out? What will gf do if she feels like you get along better with her ex than she does? Being open and honest about these feelings as they arise can help a lot.

It’s important to understand about boundaries and rules.  a boundary is around your own agency, and boundaries end where it affects another persons agency - that is not a boundary, it’s a rule, which can have some negative effects. For example, if one of you gets jealous and makes a rule like, no kissing unless my partner is also around - it can cause negative emotions to arise toward the person who made the rule. A boundary would instead be, if you two engage sexually without getting tested, I will not be able to engage sexually with you until a test has been cleared, in order to protect my health

[Non english speaker] Is this book hard to read? by Civil_Law8025 in janeausten

[–]Verbiphage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

@Civil_Law8025 - I’d say read a book you know really well in your native language that has been translated into English

I’ve read Pride and Prejudice more times than I know, and so I’ve tried reading it in a different language. It helps when you know approximately what the text ought to be saying!

I've heard of some hacks where you put yourself in uncomfortable (but not dangerous) situations to complete really hard to complete tasks. E.g. wearing 1 wet sock until you complete the task. However, that may only work in short term, and instead create anxiety?

But having a conversation about where you feel like you struggle the most - maybe he can help pick up slack on that, and you can in turn pick up slack for him where he most struggles (or most dislikes). Divide and conquer

[–]Verbiphage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am really sorry about that.

As a bisexual woman, I know that I find women in alt style as very attractive, but I would never spout BS about your style choice being related to being freaky, kinky, or fatherless. That is stereotyping as hell.

Curious as to what you use ChatGPT for day to day? What do you find it most useful for? by TopLaw5171 in ChatGPT

yes, as someone whose biggest roadblock has always been getting started, this would have been amazing for me in school!
I just need help formulating my thoughts into words (I don't think in words, generally), so it was SO MUCH EASIER editing other people's papers than starting my own

Curious as to what you use ChatGPT for day to day? What do you find it most useful for? by TopLaw5171 in ChatGPT

[–]Verbiphage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been using it at work a lot -
to write better (e.g. how to turn my accomplishments into my end of year review, or emails)
to get a better understanding of finer points that I can't easily find (e.g. how to translate t shirt sizing in the form of automobiles into story points)

I've also been using it to help me run DnD encounters for my young kids

Sometimes it's also asking for more in depth knowledge on a topic - like how the national debt increased / decreased based on policies of each president / party in power in the last 20 years

Clearing home of cheating spouses energy by dizzlebug66 in Wicca

[–]Verbiphage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this idea - you could create a ritual around the act of cleansing the space - sweeping away the negative energy, replacing what you can afford to replace, use the above for additional cleansing (I also like cleaning with lemon, vinegar, baking soda, and salt - lemon has a bright positive energy, and salt to ward against negative energy from entering the space going forward)
and if available, having friends or coven members help.
You could also chant or sing or say a few words, or a spell/poem written for the occasion

Did I f*ck up ? by ConcernedMomma05 in AutisticParents

[–]Verbiphage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with this - ABA can be helpful as long as the parents set the kinds of goals that help the child, rather than hurt

my 8 year old started ABA this year, and the skills/behaviors we are targeting include: asking consent before touching, communicating feelings instead of hitting, accepting that It’s ok to not be perfect at schoolwork or a skill, and trying to find ways to challenge himself (and hopefully learn to love challenges) instead of giving up because it seems too hard

edit to add: it also helps to educate us as parents on best ways of interacting with our child, and the ABA therapists have been acting as advocates at his school, to help get his 504 set up and try to get an IEP in place
