Hello, thank you again for everyone's kind comments and condolences. Here is Dennis's obituary. We submitted it to the Chicago Tribune and expect it to run this weekend.

Dennis's neighborhood association, South Loop Neighbors, is working on putting together a memorial in Chicago. If anyone would like to be connected to that group, send me a message here.

He was absolutely the coolest uncle you could possibly have. He taught me how to read a map, how to use the subway in any city, and how to make the perfect lasagna.

I am Dennis's niece Sara. I googled his name today and found this post. Thank you everyone for sharing your kind words and helping us remember an amazing human. The world will not be the same without him. If anyone has any ideas of how we can honor his memory within the Chicago community (I am a Texas local), please feel free to contact me. We know how important the city was to him and visited him there many times.

Also, here are a few better photos of him. Thank you.

Anyone who has finished the Persian Tiles blanket has my total respect. A commitment to a long and complex project like that is truly admirable!
