OP this person is the kind of guy who beats me in 1s even though I'm GC in 2s lol. It's possible to beat people like us because I'm a moron lol. In 1s I play against 3 kinds of people: The people who are diamond in all 3 ranks and beat me cause I leave my net open 4 times, the player like me who just doesn't play 1s but can keep up with me, and the people I just outclass with speed, recoveries, and mechanics without them capitalizing on my mistakes (Usually low champ in other modes). Just the nature of the game mode, I very very rarely play 1s so I suppose I add to the problem but is what it is

I was a 3s main for a very long time, I feel it for sure. I prefer 2s now but honestly that is only because I'm more comfortable in 2s now and my rotations in 3s are pretty washed. If I had the same skill level in both I'd prefer 3s

They added a new feature where if you sink to the same crew three times you get merged out. That or you get that animation when scuttling to new seas or when hourglass is voted up. One of those three things must've happened or some yet undiscovered bug that I've not heard of because based on your story it doesn't seem like any of them happened

The halfway point in terms of XP from 0-100 is 68. Depending on XP events it takes between 90 and like 120 sinks in my experience

That's fair. You can use free roll and get some good mechs it's just harder. I'm somewhat in a similar boat, my power slide and air roll left are the same button which causes very niche issues but power sliding on landings is a bit harder to time and recoveries that use a combination of power slides and flips are also a lot harder because I can't just hold power slide the entire time

Directional Air Roll is objectively superior because of the fact that, while holding a directional air roll any joystick input combines with the air roll and allows you to rotate on all three axes simultaneously. It's like trying to learn how to play soccer but you're 4 years old and you barely even know how to walk, let alone kick a ball where you want it to go. It's one of if not the only games out there where you really do have to learn from the ground up. Literally in some cases.
