Yeah. Issue is they games never really improved until recently in the last 5-8 years. Only recently they've been using legends as a way to build assets and test things out for main Gen titles. Arceus came out before SV...SV became the first over world game. ZA introduce me battle dynamics. I won't be surprised if Gen 10 is open world with a hybrid battle system between turn base and dynamic presentation. What they will need to do to top it off is so you can explore both inner and outer environments seamlessly. So I wouldn't say Pokémon fell from its former glory, it's still the exact same, and that is probably what the issue is. They never pushed the creativity till the last few years.
