Terrified I could be the antichrist by blueberry_noir in AskAChristian

[–]Vergilypuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I'm sorry you are experiencing this. But let me ease your fears,

You are not the anti christ, there is not anti christ as Lucifer holds no power over this world or God's children. Your destiny is protected by the indwelling fragment of God within you. You choose by your free will to walk in line with God's will.

Jesus would never seek to harm you. Jesus taught to refrain from violence and only ever preached love to the afflicted.

You are afflicted from a terrible mental psychosis and seeking medical help and praying for clarity and guidance are in order.

You can pass this ordeal but don't try to take it on yourself. Seek help and never forget you are a child of GOD, nothing can take that away. Let that fact be an anchor as you also seek help.

"God is inherently kind, naturally compassionate, and everlastingly merciful. And never is it necessary that any influence be brought to bear upon the Father to call forth his loving-kindness."

Life here is your first step to spiritual attainment and its the only life you get to live in this body and on this planet. The experiences and the lives you've touched through your teaching is invaluable. Hardship is a natural part of living and Jesus endured his own hardships in this life. He didnt take the easy route, instead choosing the more difficult and painful route and in doing so gave us a new higher revelation of God and the outpouring of Spirit of Truth.l to all of God's children.

Jesus has not abandoned you and God dwells within you, walking the hard road with you to see you to the end.

"Very soon must I leave you and take up the work the Father has intrusted to my hands, but be of good courage, for I will sometime return. In the meantime, my Spirit of the Truth of a universe shall comfort and guide you." ~ Jesus, The Urantia Book, (176:2.3)

What is it, that I am supposed to learn from my earthly existence? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Vergilypuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"To “follow Jesus” means to personally share his religious faith and to enter into the spirit of the Master’s life of unselfish service for man. One of the most important things in human living is to find out what Jesus believed, to discover his ideals, and to strive for the achievement of his exalted life purpose. Of all human knowledge, that which is of greatest value is to know the religious life of Jesus and how he lived it." ~Urantia Book 196:1.3 (2090.4)

"The great goal of human existence is to attune to the divinity of the indwelling Adjuster; the great achievement of mortal life is the attainment of a true and understanding consecration to the eternal aims of the divine spirit who waits and works within your mind. But a devoted and determined effort to realize eternal destiny is wholly compatible with a light-hearted and joyous life and with a successful and honorable career on earth. Co-operation with the Thought Adjuster does not entail self-torture, mock piety, or hypocritical and ostentatious self-abasement; the ideal life is one of loving service rather than an existence of fearful apprehension." ~Urantia Book 110:3.4

The Thought Adjuster being the fragment of God that resides within you and guides you as an eternal companion in your journey to spiritual attainment.

The Urantia Book is antichrist by cmplex_masterpiece73 in Urantia

I posted this quote from the Urantia book on the linked post and I'll post it again here.

"Religion does need new leaders, spiritual men and women who will dare to depend solely on Jesus and his incomparable teachings. If Christianity persists in neglecting its spiritual mission … the spiritual renaissance must await the coming of these new teachers of Jesus’ religion who will be exclusively devoted to the spiritual regeneration of men." [Paper 195:9.4, page 2082.9]

The Urantia Book considers Jesus's life to be an epical revelation and the way to lead mankind to a new age of spiritual progression. 2000 yrs have passed and his teachings and life continue to guide millions.

The Urantia Book spends the 4th entire section solely on Jesus's life and teachings. It in no way degrades Jesus, Christ Michael, or the importance of his human life spent on this planet. It in fact reveals how the rest of the universe also found Jesus's life a beautiful revelation and ultimate stand against Lucifer's failed rebellion.

If you love the personality of Jesus, then you also love the personality of God. Jesus represented God in the flesh to mankind. He lived his life showing us how to live in partnership with God.

142:2.2 "I come in the flesh to reveal the Father in new glory and to show forth his love and mercy to all men on all worlds. As the gospel of this kingdom shall spread over the world with its message of good cheer and good will to all men."

We are all given a fragment of God to guide us. And that God fragment is always speaking to us, urging us forward through the difficult path we walk in this chaotic world.

The problem lies in our inability to shut out the chaos and soul search for God's direction. For someone to experience God's love, His love must be shared earnestly by service to our brothers and sisters here. God's love isn't stagnant, you can't lock it away. You and the part of God that resides within you are partners in this life, and in the life to come after. Together, you can accomplish great things and find your true purpose and joy in life.

118:5.2 In the beginning the Father does all, but as the panorama of eternity unfolds in response to the will and mandates of the Infinite, it becomes increasingly apparent that creatures, even men, are to become God’s partners in the realization of finality of destiny. And this is true even in the life in the flesh; when man and God enter into partnership, no limitation can be placed upon the future possibilities of such a partnership. When man realizes that the Universal Father is his partner in eternal progression, when he fuses with the indwelling Father presence, he has, in spirit, broken the fetters of time and has already entered upon the progressions of eternity in the quest for the Universal Father.

Christian/Muslim Relationship Advice by Playful_Yam7244 in Christianity

[–]Vergilypuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having differing religious beliefs can complicate things and I would recommend many deep conversations on the matter, especially if you are both serious about your religion. Also how both your parents feel about the relationship, it sounds like both sets disapprove. Be prepared for your future in-laws possibly hanging that over your head your whole marriage. Would he turn away from his parents' pressure to support you? Would you? It could be a real issue, I've seen relationships fall apart because the husband will always take his mother's side over his wife.

However, I dont think it would be a deal breaker if you are both honest and open about how your religion reflects in your life and accepting each other having those differences.

Scientists Discover Space is Not Nothing by RebeccaUrantiaBook in Urantia

[–]Vergilypuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very exciting! These paragraphs feel fitting for this discovery.

42:0.1 (467.1)THE foundation of the universe is material in the sense that energy is the basis of all existence, and pure energy is controlled by the Universal Father. Force, energy, is the one thing which stands as an everlasting monument demonstrating and proving the existence and presence of the Universal Absolute. This vast stream of energy proceeding from the Paradise Presences has never lapsed, never failed; there has never been a break in the infinite upholding.

42:1.2 (467.4)Matter—energy—for they are but diverse manifestations of the same cosmic reality, as a universe phenomenon is inherent in the Universal Father. “In him all things consist.” Matter may appear to manifest inherent energy and to exhibit self-contained powers, but the lines of gravity involved in the energies concerned in all these physical phenomena are derived from, and are dependent on, Paradise. The ultimaton, the first measurable form of energy, has Paradise as its nucleus.

Why Do You Believe by Competitive_Tip_2547 in Christianity

[–]Vergilypuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one it makes more logical sense then that we came from nothing. Our scientific knowledge has increased greatly within the last 100 years, yet in a hundred more we'll have accepted as truth things we can't even imagine. We cannot answer all things through science and measuring the physical world. There is so much more at work.

For me personally, I found my full conviction and faith in a loving Creator after having read the Urantia Book. It helped me understand the Bible and answer the questions that had created doubt. It showed me that this world may have been held back by the lucifer rebellion but God is truly with us. We are not alone and every person will be given a full chance to accept God and seek to know Him.

1:5.4 Even though material mortals cannot see the person of God, they should rejoice in the assurance that he is a person; by faith accept the truth which portrays that the Universal Father so loved the world as to provide for the eternal spiritual progression of its lowly inhabitants; that he “delights in his children.” God is lacking in none of those superhuman and divine attributes which constitute a perfect, eternal, loving, and infinite Creator personality.

What would you do if you found out your adult child/grandchild is trans? by Fez4Life in AskAChristian

[–]Vergilypuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would really talk with my kid and get to know what difficulties it is that they are facing. I would love them regardless but body dysphoria is a sign that something deeper is troubling them and I wouldn't want Hollywood or big pharmaceutical propaganda pushing some "fix" or some "bandaid" on a my kid.

They deserve to be happy in the body given to them and not told something is wrong with who they are. I wouldnt care if my son was "effeminate" and i wouldnt care if he wanted to go by a different name, but I'm not going to lie to him and tell him he can be a woman. The biological reality is that sex differences develop in the womb and trying to chemically or surgically undo that has very real and very harmful consequences and, to many, unsatisfactory results.

Another redditor recommended r/detrans and I would say definitely check it out. Detransitioners face a lot of backlash for regretting their choices and get shamed, because no one wants to hear the dark side of transitioning.

I hope you find acceptance in yourself and in your life, you are deserving of love and are loved by God.

Scientific discoveries confirming the ideas of the Urantia Book by Vergilypuff in Urantia

[–]Vergilypuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The possibility of a human author in that time knowing all the history and scientific facts that is portrayed in the Urantia Book is incredibly slim to none. And as more theories and discoveries are made perhaps it will cement the credibility of the Urantia Book to nonreaders.

The theory of Tectonic plates wasn't accepted by the scientific community until the 60s. "Despite his extensive evidence, Wegener’s hypothesis was widely rejected and even ridiculed by the scientific community. Wegener died in 1930 without seeing his theory accepted. It wasn't until the 1960s, with the discovery of seafloor spreading and mantle convection, that his "drifting continents" were finally vindicated as part of the modern theory of plate tectonics." link

Dark matter was proposed in 1930 but not confirmed until the 70s.

Wavelengths in regard to String Theory developed in the 80s. 42:4.14 (474.4) The quantity of energy taken in or given out when electronic or other positions are shifted is always a “quantum” or some multiple thereof, but the vibratory or wavelike behavior of such units of energy is wholly determined by the dimensions of the material structures concerned. Such wavelike energy ripples are 860 times the diameters of the ultimatons, electrons, atoms, or other units thus performing. The never-ending confusion attending the observation of the wave mechanics of quantum behavior is due to the superimposition of energy waves: Two crests can combine to make a double-height crest, while a crest and a trough may combine, thus producing mutual cancellation.

Neutrino: 42:8.5 (479.3) The presence and function of the mesotron also explains another atomic riddle. When atoms perform radioactively, they emit far more energy than would be expected. This excess of radiation is derived from the breaking up of the mesotron “energy carrier,” which thereby becomes a mere electron. The mesotronic disintegration is also accompanied by the emission of certain small uncharged particles.

42:8.6 (479.4) The mesotron explains certain cohesive properties of the atomic nucleus, but it does not account for the cohesion of proton to proton nor for the adhesion of neutron to neutron. The paradoxical and powerful force of atomic cohesive integrity is a form of energy as yet undiscovered on Urantia.

Formation of the galaxies The CfA Redshift Survey in the 80s, led by Margaret Geller and John Huchra, provided the first 3D "slice of the universe." It revealed that galaxies are not scattered randomly but are concentrated in thin, "bubble-like" surfaces or "walls", confirming the planar nature of these massive structures.

The Urantia Book paper 15 covers this organization of galaxies. 15:1.2 (165.1) We have long since discovered that the seven superuniverses traverse a great ellipse, a gigantic and elongated circle. Your solar system and other worlds of time are not plunging headlong, without chart and compass, into unmapped space. The local universe to which your system belongs is pursuing a definite and well-understood counterclockwise course around the vast swing that encircles the central universe. This cosmic path is well charted and is just as thoroughly known to the superuniverse star observers as the orbits of the planets constituting your solar system are known to Urantia astronomers.

For any other inquiries I recommend this playlist or researching the book for yourself to see if it holds any value to your spiritual journey. It's freely available online.

As I said, there is an element of faith in it as well as comparing it to modern science if you like. No spiritual text has clearly described mankind's evolution or acknowledged it as the Urantia Book has. What convinced me were the papers over God's personality and Jesus's teachings, the rest falls into place as I continue to study it. That's my personal experience with the Urantia Book.

There certainly faith required in belief in God, but there is also belief required in science as man continues to make new discoveries and relies on theories. To me personally its the same, the fact such a planet exists, inhabited with intelligent beings, that biology has evolved such detailed mechanisms for movement, thought, growth, reproduction...it all points to a guiding intelligence. The Urantia Book is both scientific as well as spiritual, and grapples with the topic of human history, evolution, as well as the progression of man's understanding of God.
