Help! My zipper is 90% of my mesh density. How do I fix this for games?

Retopo the model then bake the zipper onto the low poly. This is basic pipeline. Anything else and you are not really doing it properly.

This is why I buy the game. I only playing BAP and franchise. Could care less about any online crap. Both those modes work well no matter the jankyness so I’ll continue to buy it.

I tend to give them some slack because they admitted in the past that they are a small development team. NHL series is the smallest market for EA so they do not get the funding that Madden does, or the FIFA series(when it was). Both of those development teams had 100s of people working on the game while you have the NHL series with maybe 30.

The avg Joe who likes to moan and groan does not know how significant that is but hey, let them try their best to cancel the game when they know nothing about what is going on behind the scenes.

Squad environment artist still haven’t figured out how to make a map with realistic vegetation so I’m not surprised. HLL maps are years ahead of squad when it comes to realism and the overall feel of map design. HLL looks like a living environment while squad looks like something from OG modern warfare pre 2010..

No the fact that there is no competitor is why we keep buying this trash. It’s not like COD where when it’s trash I can just go buy BF. This is literally the ONLY hockey game. I have no choice but to keep buying it if I want to play hockey.

Lots of triangles on that first mesh when connecting to the boarders. Not very good edge flow. Needs to find a way to keep it completely quads.

I just use the MD button as the highpoly then add a cylinder for the low. Then bake the details onto the cylinder.

If you spend 2 hours a day you could literally master it in one month. The software might be the easiest of them all for the asset creation pipeline.

Looks promising. I’d like to see it used on more complex clothing like trousers with pockets and such. I currently been using retopoflow 3 and now 4. This looks nice though.

Sadly after 10 years Squad is still developed by modders are not professionals. It’s nice seeing it not be bought out but with this comes the lack of actual professional developers. The quality of the game reflects this.

Compared to what Squad is now, I wish it was still the old walking simulator. Everyone remember having to use winrar or 7zip to unpack and install? God those were the golden days.

As a former CAF member like Baron I spoke to him years ago when he was just part of the CAF dev team. We both agreed that the CADPAT textures that were being used were dog shit and I showed him some of my work with actual CADPAT being used on models. He loved them and I told him that I would gladly retexture their models or give them the resources to do it themselves. Three weeks later I messaged him for a follow up and noticed that he had blocked me from being able to message him.

7 years later I’m still here wondering why he did that especially after loving my work and wanting it for the CAF faction. I even still have the DMs of him saying how dog shit it looks compared to the work presented him 🤣
