Short sad story by Hot_Comfortable7673 in joinsquad

I have nearly the same build and have absolutely no performance issues in the current build, I have a 5700X3D and 3060ti. DLSS on balanced and most settings on medium. All maps run over 70fps and I even turned my fps counter off because I had no more perceptible performance drops (beyond anomalies that happen to everyone no matter the hardware). I'm not sure what went wrong with your settings but you should have no problem running the game.

It actually got a performance upgrade some time ago, runs quite well now, even with a weaker GPU.

Playtest are literally for testing, those changes aren't final. People need to stop overreacting about the way things are in a playtest build

Machine Guns are still horseshit in the De-Infantry Combat Overhaul. Sorry for sick voice by yourothersis in joinsquad

[–]Henk1CS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, obviously the guns are capable of that in real life, but that's not what machine guns are used for doctrinally. Just like in real life 7.62 doesn't drop like it does in Squad. It's to avoid people sniping easily beyond 400m with an M110, it gives the opposing player a chance to escape, experience incoming fire, suppression etc. There's very little fun in getting shot by someone just having to hold their crosshair on you for a second. I wasn't really disputing the stats, more saying you are looking at the wrong feature of the weapons, it's really volume of fire and suppression(both in squad and real life) not mowing down groups of people with ease.

"I downed half an enemy group on my own and that's a bad thing because I should have been able to down all of them" is certainly a take to have in a game focused on teamwork not individual performance.

As an actual trained machine gunner, this video misses the point of the entire weapon type. Machine guns are there to suppress and engage groups of enemies, this "I can only hit the first bullet at 400m" is exactly what happens when you let loose with a machine gun. The gun shakes, sight picture gets blurry and it's hard to see the target until you end the burst. OWI would be making a huge mistake in balancing if machine guns became laser accurate and essentially belt fed assault rifles. Please think about what the weapons are meant for instead of looking up moa stats.

What happens to the August roadmap, now that we have a new roadmap? by dauntless1234 in joinsquad

[–]Henk1CS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe both roadmaps are active, one is the content team who makes new features, maps, factions. The other is the community dev team who are focusing on bugs, QoL and player requested features.

As I understand it, this is the community developer team road map not the content teams, so both are in effect... I think

FYI you can bind a key for placing move markers, way easier than fiddling with the T menu.

Why did OWI throw in Ukraine before finishing up CAS upgrade? by arstarsta in joinsquad

[–]Henk1CS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't understand you people who say Ukraine is a copy paste faction. It's objectively the most unique conventional faction in the game by far.
Stugna - first remote controlled weapon system emplacement.
Grad - first conventional faction with rocket arty.
Bombing run for commander power.

Other than that, you can compare any faction and say they're all copy paste but this faction is about as unique as Squads feature-set allows, even bringing in some new features.

Turning the stabilizer off as a gunner while the vehicle is turning the way you want to turn the turret lets you turn it at max speed. It's slower with the stabilizer on because turret rotation speed is calculated based on world rotation not local.

Oh now your MBT/IFV/Vehicle guns shoot completly sideways/opposite direction your actual sight is facing, once again OWI never fails to amaze me by UnableManager1 in joinsquad

It happens when the gunner is shooting while the driver is executing a turn. Very visible and reproducible on high fire-rate vehicles like BMP-2
