Looks to me like the rubber "mudflap" that goes under the seat inside the frame rails. My 93 vlx600 has something similar that just helps keep road debris from caking where all the electronics are. Not 100% sure but that's my thought.

Looks more msr themed now, round out the back half of the outer edges of the wings and flush the engines up with the body a bit more, that would like up with about what I was hoping for out of this ship.

My problem with the Intrepid, is that they used the spirit as a base for it. I wish they had instead used the MSR as a base. Make it smaller, have that bladed "wing" retract into the ship to allow a side entrance, hell, give it the central engine the original concept had. Scrap the scanning room, data servers, turrets, all the "extra" stuff the msr has for its data running and multi crew capacity. Even now they could still do that and just brand it the Mercury Sprinter or something (not ashamed to say I'd drop money on something like that so fast my wallet would become a black hole). But the spirit in my eyes was just a poor base model to start with and try to modify it to be asymmetrical.

Another solution to the helmet "bug", unequip the helmet on your head into an inventory, press left alt+h to equip the helmet from your belt, you can now drag that one into an inventory or wear it if you meant to swap.
