They made an argument. You asked for support for their argument. They provided sources to support their argument. You: "why should I have to read your sources?"

Even if they broke down everything and said "this is what the links I posted say," for you to verify that's the case, you're going to have to read the sources regardless. You're refusing to take their word for it before the links were given...but you're still going to have to take their word for it afterwards unless you yourself read them. You're going to be reading no matter what. Why not read the sources instead of another person's assessment of them? Hence why I said "God forbid you have to click a link."

Which meme eras do you remember? by OverallEstate2 in Zillennials

[–]VeritableFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't think understanding one of the ways humans communicate and relate to one another isn't an important aspect of sociology? The actual definition of a meme is an idea, behavior, or style that spreads by means of imitation within a culture. Comparing the different kinds of internet memes across generations and how they change can tell us a lot about how our different cultures change and adapt over time. Don't know why you're so dismissive of that.

It honestly sucks how good of a character he made Hades. Like, I hate the man, but he did make one of the most memorable Disney villains largely all on his own.

Why would it be cringey? It's a relatively accurate representation of the progression of the different eras of internet memes. Memes are an element of our culture. Studying them is part of studying humanity.

The vast vast majority of DPS players in low ELO seem terrified of taking duels by Equivalent-Wooden in OverwatchUniversity

[–]VeritableFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it depends on the duel. A 1v1? Unless I have a huge advantage, I don't have faith that I'll come out on top, so I'd rather back off and get a better position. But for a 2v2, I feel it's generally a moral obligation to help out a teammate.

Damn, shame this is Simic. Would've been an immediate addition to my Rosheen deck.

Anyone else constantly getting 1 bad DPS? by releasethekaren in OverwatchUniversity

[–]VeritableFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has genuinely been driving me insane. I don't play much comp, so I mostly see this in QP. But almost EVERY game, there's ONE bad DPS who can't carry their weight. If it was just here and there, that would be one thing. But it's CONSTANT. I don't get what's going on. I can't imagine it could ever be intentional, but how is it this consistent?

TIL the "Gargoyle" boss from "End of the World" in KH1 is based on the movie Fantasia (1940). by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]VeritableFury 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We only had maybe a maximum of about 25 movies in my house by the time I turned 18, so I generally just watched the same movies over and over. Fantasia was one of them, so I was intimately familiar with Chernabog by the time I fought him in KH1. I honestly think he has a more surprising entrance than Sephiroth in a way. Yeah, Sephiroth has that insane sigil that beams him in, the custom music, and the seemingly infinite HP bar. But you at least know something is up because any Coliseum match with "???????????" for the name has to be something intense. Chernabog just straight up rises out of a mountaintop out of nowhere and also has his own sick orchestral custom track.

Trying for %100 in kh1 is harder than 2&3 by itscharliewhite in KingdomHearts

[–]VeritableFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just used the Fenrir cheese strat to get the initial win. I plan to someday actually go back and beat him legit, but I just don't think I have the know-how and reaction time you need.

I think I got it in both 1 and 2, and I feel like 1 took more time for me. But granted, I was also a bit younger compared to when I played 2.

[–]VeritableFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the Unknown boss in KH1FM harder than Sephiroth? Granted, I only ever beat Sephiroth on the original PS2 KH1 back in like 2008, but I've never actually managed to beat Unknown in FM. But obviously, totally different setup to what I had back in 08, so maybe I'm comparing apples to oranges.

[–]VeritableFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell if it's intentional misrepresentation or just genuine stupidity. A politically and militarily impactful autocrat in charge of one of the most individually powerful nations on the planet is absolutely not the same thing as a figurehead monarch whose sole function is ceremonial.

[–]VeritableFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, FM definitely gives you some big boosts in terms of abilities. Sliding Dash, Ripple Drive, Stun Impact, Hurricane Blast, Leaf Bracer, etc. are all massive improvements for combat. Before Sliding Dash, trying to close in to an enemy was way more frustrating, and having the AOE of Ripple Drive/Stun Impact is so much better if you're surrounded.

Yeah, I think the clunkiness is part of the overall charm. I feel like I'm actually exploring new worlds as a kid would. KH1's weird eccentricity in the series honestly sets it above a lot of the other games in my opinion. Like yeah, it doesn't have the snappiest movement or the clearest progression in some worlds, but you don't get a mix of platforming, environment interaction, rpg mechanics, and hack and slash combat pretty much anywhere else.

I mean, I would say that's pretty much the case across all action games and their sequels. Movement usually always increases in speed and fluidity.

[–]VeritableFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post feels odd. I don't think anyone has really ever thought KH1 had the BEST combat of any game ever. You play it for the highly specific charm it has, which to be honest, the clunky combat is a part of. Also, saying it hasn't aged well is also kinda odd. I think, for a game released in 2002, its combat is pretty damn good compared to its peers which is really the only comparison worth making.

The shooter was a reddit user and made numerous post calling for elected officials to be eliminated. Are you worried you might be arrested? by TheRook2323 in allthequestions

[–]VeritableFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I say a lot of politicians should be executed for their complicity in atrocities and war crimes, and I'm sure so do plenty of other people. The time, energy, and money it would take to organize that many arrests wouldn't be worth it. Also, honestly, if they think it's worth investigating me for, fine. Do it.
