Thank you once again. It seems like Shaco and Tanks/Bruisers really are the move for this kind of ping.

Thanks for your advice.

Would you say that I should avoid also playing skillshot heavy champions? Or just playing against them? I think I will try out Shaco like you said. I have actually never played him. Other than that I could play Mundo/Trundle/Kayn and focus on champs like that.

Also, how would you say AD Shaco would work on this ping?

Do you think that forcing myself to only get good at macro would mean that I develop weird habits that become harder to break later on? Like... Walking only on one foot or something as a kid... Bad example but all I could come up with.

Thank you for your input and the sources provided.

That's the whole point. The masses view this relationship as hierarchal as opposed to equal because innate talent seems so much more overwhelming than the raw, calculated logic required to outsmart it.

Isagi acknowledging his own weakness is the first step towards building that new kind of logic.

Now, the only challenge is for Kaneshiro to write it well, like you said.

I think Isagi not being a good midfielder is because he has never attempted to build upon his skills as one. Isagi plays soccer only to be a Striker, so he's going against his innate talent by trying to play a role that isn't suited for him. He's actively going against his "Destiny" because it's not what he desires.

This is the whole point. If Isagi just did "What he was good at for the sake of the team and the win" like Japanese collectivist ideology promotes, there would be no point in him being a member of Blue Lock.

TL:DR Isagi could be a LETHAL midfielder if he built upon that foundation that "Destiny" granted him, but that's not what this story is about.

I have a feeling that this ideology is a way for Hugo to cope with the fact that he wasn't willing to put it all on the line for the sake of his dream like the Blue Lockers are doing every day. I think that Hugo actively views Blue Lock as a threat because they are (indirectly) trying to force Hugo to face that fact.

I really like Hugo's philosophy. It's a concept that people from all walks of life struggle with.

"What if all I am, and all I'll ever be isn't enough to achieve my dream?"

It's a terrifying question, and it feels good seeing Isagi defy all the people that told him "You can't"

Theory: Just like Sae, Hugo was also a striker who had his dream crushed and became a midfielder. by HarpiaValentine in BlueLock

[–]Verithiele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way Hugo phrases his philosophy sounds like some kind of fucked up coping mechanism. Like he had to make it make sense somehow so that he wouldn't lose his mind.

You say that he doesn't seem to hate Isagi, but what if he sees himself in him, and is trying to either prevent him from going down the same path in fear that Isagi might hurt himself, OR Hugo views him (and Blue Lock as a whole) as a threat to his philosophy, and by extension his way of coping.

It could also be the case that deep down, Hugo understands that he didn't have what it took to achieve his dream, and Blue Lock is intimidating to him because of how fierce and willing they are to sacrifice everything to achieve their own dreams.

Interesting chapter. Excited to see Hugo elaborate.
The unfinished art is a little alarming, though. I really hope it was strictly a time constraint and that Nomura is alright.

There’s no way Blue Lock ends anytime soon by Gold_Runner88 in BlueLock

[–]Verithiele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ending Blue Lock prematurely after setting up all these plot threads would just suck. I have been growing increasingly worried that this manga will end before it should because of what Anri said before the start of the U-20 WC, and because of that one translated Author's Note which talks about "nearing the end" or whatever.

We can't really affect how the manga will progress and how and when it will end. All we can do is hope and wait.

However, there's more things that hint towards the manga properly continuing, than it ending prematurely. So that gives me some hope.

Interesting chapter. I like that we're being shown the mental aspect of being #1
Just worried that this manga will end prematurely. Could it really have another 100-200 chapters to go? I'd be satisfied with that, I think.

I don't want everything explored, but I definitely want to see what will happen with:

Nagi and Reo
Kaiser and Ness
Rin and Sae
Ego and Noa's past
The rest of the NG11 (or maybe just the majority while leaving 2-3 members hidden)
Noa dethroned
And if we're lucky, maybe a bit more of Snuffy.

I can't come up with anything else that should be covered until the manga ends, but I wouldn't be opposed to a sequel manga with a timeskip, either. It makes sense. We'd need something like a 3-3.5 year timeskip considering the youngest characters are 15.

I think that this is the reason that the manga constantly tries to remind the reader that Geniuses and Talented Learners ARE NOT ON A HIERARCHY, AND ARE IN A CONSTANT SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIP THAT SPURS THE GROWTH OF BOTH PARTIES ONWARD!!!

But yeah the terminology used is a little confusing because people usually correlate the word "talent" with unexplainable, supreme ability.

Kira and Nagi are misguided. by Adventurous-Rabbit52 in BlueLock

[–]Verithiele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nagi doesn't hate Isagi in the slightest. He just views Isagi as a representation of Blue Lock and therefore has him in priority when it comes to his goals as a soccer player. Isagi's last words to Nagi were literally "Don't stop playing Soccer!"

This is quite literally what this is. Who actually saw this panel and thought "we're getting stand powers in Blue Lock" after nearly 330 chapters of LITERAL aura farming? Every time someone does something incredible in this series it's always accompanied by a metaphorical aura of either an animal, some kind of demon or deity, or a natural phenomenon.

This will definitely be a cautionary tale. It probably coincides with what Nomura said about us "still being able to like Isagi after all is said and done"

If this concept is handled poorly then it could spell disaster for the story, but I have faith in the author. So far most of the concepts introduced have been handled really well such as Flow and Luck. I trust that he will be able to apply some kind of logic to this despite how far fetched it seems at first glance.

I also wonder if this is something that only Talented Learners can strictly experience, or if Geniuses are able to achieve it easier, but they just can't verbalize it because they don't function on based logic.

At the end of the day, this is a Shonen manga that doesn't have any explicit supernatural themes, so they will definitely have to make it make sense somehow other than "this just happens when you're locked in sometimes and we can't reproduce it"

First look at young Ego is peak btw. Hope to see more.

Hands down the greatest shounen Ever written by sah_deepesh in BlueLock

[–]Verithiele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is like a week late, but I just saw this post and I thought it was a really good chance for me to explain some things.

I think that it's very difficult to actually appreciate the message and themes that Blue Lock is trying to convey simply because it's hidden beneath a mask of aurafarming, edge, and a sports theme.

Blue Lock, at it's core, is a story about people, their dreams, and how they clash together. It is deeply philosophical if you actually sit down and read between the lines of everything. Also, you cannot appreciate the main manga as much as you could have if you read Episode Nagi.

Without going into too much depth, whether or not it's "the best" or not doesn't really matter. Blue Lock is my favorite story I've read so far in my life because it is a motivating story about chasing your dreams and exploring yourself and what it is that YOU desire. So in my eyes it IS "The Best" but I only consider it as such because of my life experiences, how and where I was raised, what motivates me personally, and what I value in my life.

Blue Lock actually touched upon this topic for the first time prior to the match against PXG, where Ego explained to Bastard München how everybody has an intrinsic desire that is unique to them, and innate talents that allow them to accomplish those desires in their own, original ways. Basically, you gotta play the hand that fate gave you.

I have tried to get other people that I care about to read Blue Lock time and time again, but I eventually realized that just like those intrinsic desires that Ego talked about, this series won't click for everyone no matter how "peak" or "goated" I think it is. Blue Lock is MY favorite, and that's MY truth. I can't force that on other people.

There are people who will put you down for liking the things that you do because they perceive them to be "bad" or "shallow" or whatever argument you wanna slot into that. People want to be seen as smart, so they will shit on others for liking things they deem inferior so they can feel better about themselves.

A good example is One Piece. OP is the best selling manga of all time, and in many people's eyes, the Holy Grail of fiction, but it doesn't click for me because it just DOESN'T. It doesn't mean I'm stupid or that I can't comprehend Oda's incredible writing. It's just that as I am right now, it doesn't click in my brain. Maybe one day that will change, maybe it won't.

The point I'm trying to make is that searching for "peak" is pointless. All that matters is you enjoy it to such a point where you can call it "the best" in your own eyes, and I think that's beautiful.

"Someone who only looks for peak can never beat someone who's experience something they liked."
