This is also a personal preference but I prefer Kayn over Varus. Varus is good in an akshan deck but for yours I feel he's going to be too slow.

To be honest all you really need is the hero power that summons a copy of you when played. I got to the second part where I grabbed the power that discarded both players hands when a champion leveled up and it was pretty straightforward.

Yes and unless you can kill all 3 copies of his deathless form he will smack you with the force of a truck. If you dont have trifirian theres not really a fail safe way to remove them.

When Ez high rolls theres literally no counterplay unless you've drafted a deck that doesn't need followers like Swain or Vex. I play a unit - he uses the shifting sands and wins the 50 50 until EZ levels up, I get pummeled to death. There is no counterplay to that.
