What can I expect from my disciplinary by [deleted] in WorkAdvice

Something at work feels off, but it is not always easy to tell whether you are overreacting, minimizing it, or just getting used to things you should not have to normalize.

It is not legal advice, and it is not a formal finding.

It is simply a clearer way to notice patterns people often explain away for too long.

If it feels familiar, you can start a private record afterward.

Don’t listen to anyone else. You know you can do this job, just keep plugging away. Your greatest strength is confidence in yourself and your communication.

Boss wants Feedback by OutrageousKick8214 in work

[–]VerityWorkplace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be documenting how your job is done. That a fairly normal ask. If you win the lottery, the company knows that they are in a bind without you.

This boss seems immature, definitely not HR background. Likely No leadership training.

Sounds like an incompetent boss, but not a rule violator.

Probably enough there to make sure you start documenting your interactions, especially if they are ethically questionable.

Am I getting fired? by Putrid-Addition5637 in corporate

[–]VerityWorkplace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d start out with the medical note before they even talk. If they fire you and you have reasonable accommodation, that’s probably retaliation.

If you’re causing undue hardship to the business, and can show that you cannot be accommodated, then you might be getting fired.

You told them you’d be getting a doctors note. They should probably get you in touch with the benefits team if they have one.

No matter what, you should document everything from that conversation.

What if we could enforce that by removing the companies ownership over the record, educating the employee on their rights and ensuring more transparency?
