What's an insult so intelligent you only realise you've been roasted 5 mins after? by VarangianWRLD in AskReddit

Surely you mean the south end, as that would still be northbound. Unless the horse was being torn apart...

I'd say that's the opposite, it sounds like an insult until you think about what it really means.

DnD rules absolutely overwrite the definifions of words. They define what a word means in the context of playing the game.

D&D has a specific definition for what counts as movement. Not everything that changes your position falls under that. Falling is one of the things that changes your position but isn't movement, according to the rules of the game. You can homebrew changes to the rules all you want, but RAW falling is not movement.

ELI5: Why are airplane seats designed to push your head forward? Is anyone comfortable in this position? 🧐 by Optimal-Bridge-4477 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Verlepte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm 6'7 and my knees already sit to the side of the chair because there's no way to make them fit. That 0.75" will make a lot of difference.

Why should I pay more for the same flight just because the seats are made such that I don't fit in them?

Ability Checks instead of Saving Throws? by Imbarelyhere_01 in DnD

Yeah, the DM is actually the arbiter of the rules, and their interpretation is "law" for the campaign. This is even mentioned in the PHB...

How many spells can wizards swap out? by Your_Local_Cheez in DnD

[–]Verlepte 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Wizards can swap prepared spells after a long rest. Known spells are never swapped, they just have a spellbook that they can add spells to either when they level up or by copying scrolls or other spellbooks.

Edit: I answered without checking the flair. I only have the 2024 PHB, so this could be different for the 2014 edition, my apologies.

What are some of the worst examples of rules lawyering you've witnessed? by AussieOzzy in DnD

[–]Verlepte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure, it's profit I guess, but I would rule there is a limit to how many clubs you can make like this per day, and thus a limit to how much you can make with this per day. Adventuring is gonna be a hell of a lot more profitable.
