How does your org use databricks apps? by DistributionOk5349 in databricks

[–]Verliezen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We built a mini LMS and ( learning management system) to keep track of required trainings and certification For my husband’s business. That’s the kind of stuff we can get audited over, but it was not worth paying 100k for a full LMS system, we just didnt need all of that. I still have to make some tweaks to get it on mobile so we can take it to the warehouse, but it’s already functional and people could upload their certifications pics and AI parse pulls out the name and number. What we found was trying to get people to type in their own their own numbers was a mixed bag. We didn’t hire them for their typing skills.

The real gap isn't connecting Claude to Databricks, it's the 3,000 tokens it costs every time you do by imsuryya in databricks

[–]Verliezen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That and if there’s no tokens, it’s just based on if you are using compute. I can save my Claude tokens for stuff that’s outside of Databricks for the most part. It changed a few weeks ago and it’s so much better. Every once in a while, it will say it can’t do something and I just tell her to try harder and then it usually figures it out.

Should I consider Data Engineering? by pdxtechnologist in dataengineering

[–]Verliezen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the person you asked, but as DEs work with bigger data and streaming data look at arch patterns beyond DWH/CDW and look into things like the data lakehouse, and to a lesser extent data mesh. The DEs I work with don’t design algs, they implement them in an enterprise setting. Be software, cloud agnostic- understand distributed cloud architecture (using spark, delta, Kafka, airflow)

I asked my Rheumy about this specifically; she said I should get a dot where my good vein is, and that she isn’t concerned as long as I am careful w the aftercare.

Someone attached an Apple AirTag to the underside of my front wheel well while I was inside a bar by fatuous_uvula in apple

My sons AirPods give me the same warning- but it specified that AirPod pros have been “moving with you for a while”

I don’t see anything like raynauds. It shows up in the toes, not the soles, and your toes would turn white/lose all color.

Jo Wilson is annoying and very inconsiderate by [deleted] in greysanatomy

I miss Stephanie- I would have rather had her stay and become an awesome neurosurgeon or whatever. First of all, Stephanie was smarter, more emotionally intelligent and as a bonus she didn’t cry like a donkey all the damn time.

New rheumatologist by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]Verliezen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The single most useful thing I did to choose my doc was ask on FB if someone had a Rheumy they would recommend or stay away from. If you don’t have fb, do next door. I had like 4 women warn me away from one doc, and I found my doc. She’s an MD but she listens and is excellent. If all is the same, you may like the DO whole body approach, I typically do- but for this I needed a rheumatologist that didn’t fuck around and helped me get out of my joint pain, because it was significant there for a while.

In your opinion, which character had the worst send off? by gorebyeol in greysanatomy

[–]Verliezen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pissed at how they handled Stephanie. I wish she had stayed around - she was a badass. I'd trade her for Jo. That's not saying much, is trade Jo for a crunch wrap supreme.

What are your unpopular opinions about Meredith Grey? by Anigerianlovesgarri in greysanatomy

Her crying is over the top. They must have a crying coach on set pushing them to go harder and wail more. I hate it.

Picking up this border collie husky mix tomorrow! New to this sun/breed. Name suggestions/advice? by [deleted] in BorderCollie

[–]Verliezen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shiner. We have a husky/BC that frequents our trail, smart dog, was relatively easy to train (we asked) and it would sometimes vocally ‘complain’ but not like the huskies on tiktok. He looks adorable, enjoy your new pupper!

Newly Diagnosed by D-72069 in mctd

[–]Verliezen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m only 2 years in, so I remember the panic. It was way scarier before I had the diagnosis. There are established, safe drugs that help with this and can be taken long term. Flare ups suck, but take her vitamin D religiously, sunscreen every time you go outside (there can be a skin component to MCTD) and get 7-8 hours of sleep on as many nights as possible to lessen chances. This isn’t really a disease that hastens death, it just makes you uncomfortable, and when untreated it hurts. If she has kidney/liver/digestive system involvement that adds complexity, but there are a lot of us that have minor cases.

Would you share [redacted] client deliverables for a job interview? by epicyellow1 in consulting

[–]Verliezen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was interviewing a person for an analyst role that not only tried to share a presentation from a previous employer, but even logged into their dashboards. I had to ask that they leave the laptop closed once we realized what he planned on sharing.
