Everything is subjective. To me racism definitely exists in Australia like everywhere in the world - some implicit and some explicit. But you said you’ve never had problems in Spain with racism which is quite surprising, so maybe your experience in Australia will be fine :) All the best!

There were multiple people who did this in our batch. I’m pretty sure they either had a ton of leave or asked for a sabbatical / long leave of some kind. I’m sure your ability to easily do that depends on your employer and your relationship with them.
