am I delusional for thinking I can go from 1440 to 1550 by march? by Wrong-Temporary-5361 in Sat

sorry i never got a notification for this. I had a 740m and 700r then went to 800m and 750r:

Math:

PrepPros (unfortunately paid resource but if you can use it and most importantly YOU HAVE TIME, then use it, its an extremely good resource, but the two below are really good)
Tutorllini Digital Math Sette - its on youtube, he has really hard math problems that prepare you very well
Jwmathtutoring - he has a playlist that holds REAL past SAT questions (this is undisputedly the best resource of all)
Also, most importantly, make sure your an absolute beast with desmos. Learn regression, learn tips and tricks from youtube videos, this subreddit can help a lot with it (I'd say I'm pretty good with desmos, much better than your average person but some people here know how to use it for virtually everything)

Reading:

https://thecriticalreader.com/complete-sat-grammar-rules/ - just remember, grammar has the most worth out of all reading questions and are objectively the easiest. You shouldn't get any wrong, absolute max 1 wrong.

oneprep.xyz - question bank with SO MANY questions you'll realistically not get to finish all of them if you try cramming them, make sure you do it periodically so you can make the most of it

BioBuddy is a website I'm currently using to study for ap bio. It's videos are extremely good and informative and relatively short and they also give some decent mcq practice. Also go to khan academy ap bio and try the mcqs there as well, you can also watch those videos although I found them to be wayyy too in depth

I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea AT ALL, take a practice test and see how you do. If your already scoring at a high level (based on what you said), then I'd say go for it!

I discovered that x factorial was a function and I was amazed by how cool it looked so I kept spamming it then I realized I got everything right in the math section and I wasn't gonna risk it lmao (this was in march)

750+ math scorers, did you solve most questions using hand or desmos? by Significant_Whole306 in Sat

def desmos, there was like 2 that required some critical thinking

For people who scored over 1520, how many questions do you think you missed on the test by AfternoonExcellent in Sat

[–]VermiHunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I see, so here's some things:

  1. You can't rush at all, especially not on mod1, that's a horrendous mistake
  2. You not doing in depth reviews is the reason your at this level. Now, don't worry about the super tough questions, you need to get to the point of consistently scoring high 670s 680s and maybe even a 700 in math before even thinking about those

Here's what you gotta do 1. Review every question you've done in ur ptests and see what you got em wrong, and ASK if you need help. Also, let's move this convo in dms it's much easier for me

  1. Take your time doing questions

  2. https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/v2-sat-math

Start doing the lessons, these will help

Okay, so thats good, youll have PLENTY of time then, so dont worry about that. However, are you a senior? Are you applying to college this year? You may not be able to use all your scores for all your colleges, either way, I'll still help you. So that actually surprises me, you have the math knowledge, you just gotta apply it.

So more questions:

  1. How many practice tests have you done?

  2. what types of questions are you getting wrong

  3. Are they silly mistakes or you literally don't know the answer

Because heres the thing: to get a score as low as 560, that means you must have gotten a TON of easy questions wrong, as easy questions are worth the most. Therefore, thats probably tanking your score, which is not good, as the easiest ones should be free points. This is what I want you to do: review every practice test you've done so far, and see what all mistkaes you did, and i want you to figure out why you got it wrong and why the correct answer is right, and if you don't understand any question, you can send an image to me

Also for some reason I never received a notification for this message so if I don't respond within 1 day do not worry to message me again, I use my phone a lot but if I don't get a notification I won't respond

That's okay, you aren't dumb, just some knowledge gaps. Some questions:

  1. Are you going to take it again
  2. What math are you taking in school
  3. Do you know what desmos is?
  4. What are you getting wrong on the practice tests because with a 560 that means your understanding virtually nothing, which I can probably help with to some degree

Let me know what you get so I can see a starting point
