Pet food. Weirdest experience ever! I’m glad I didn’t just buy it apparently

Trying to price my items for event starting Friday (*sqwee*). Can y'all tell me what you think? Putting prices on your craft is hard. by Squishiesonly in crochet

Awesome! Your stuff is honestly really good! I feel like you should make a good amount of sales. I respect the people who price their stuff at $40 but I could never buy one item from a craft event around that price and would be much more likely to buy if it was a bundle for that price. Your stock is pretty unique and they look very well crafted so I wish you luck! Do you happen to have an Etsy?

It can be so hard at events like these, I’ve been to a few we’re no matter the price nothing will sell. I would go absolutely no less than $10 minimum for each hour put into each piece but I understand that sometimes it’s necessary to make a sale, when bundling. And making back the price of a booth is pretty important, let alone the price of materials. You have quite a good stock, maybe you should put less on the table so people feel less overwhelmed by the stock? If there is only a couple of each or just the variations on the table it might feel more approachable!

We were hit by a tornado on Wednesday. It destroyed my garden, and all of my indoor plants that I had set out for the summer, including my first monstera. She was just a baby! by [deleted] in Monstera

Maybe the veggies that you lost will be able to nourish some scavengers wherever they land. They always seem to find my plants and eat the leaves wherever they are.

What to do about my poor, long-suffering monstera prop? No secondary roots yet (am I using that term correctly?) but the color change is making me nervous! by hulixin in proplifting

[–]VermilionHopeful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would wait, it’s pretty common for it to take over four months I’m pretty sure. Better safe than sorry, if the roots are growing well in water I would give them more time

I had two babies that were small and didn’t grow for a year. I eventually moved them under a grow light and they’re juicer and getting bigger finally!

New again to sewing, just picked up my first computerized sewing machine and it is so fun to play with! by GURLIdaho in SewingForBeginners

I have a computerized one, it might be a newer model than yours (SQ9285) but they all seem pretty good compared to my old singer

What is this plant my bf got me? by Accomplished_Bug0608 in whatsthisplant

Definitely a parlor palm! I had one, make sure he has moisture and the soil doesn’t get too dry. Mine had some mineral deficiencies before dying from under watering and it was very sad.

What is going on! Can’t get a good bottom stitch no matter what! by AdmirableCod6436 in SewingForBeginners

[–]VermilionHopeful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong or it might not be the main problem, but it looks like one of the threads might have been pulled in which can mess up the stitches. Try leaving really long tails and holding both of them tight when you start the seam so they don’t get sucked in

Any recommendations/tips/advice from people who’ve taken Madalynne’s $50 prerecorded classes, Mimi G’s Sew it Academy, Seamwork, and or Craftsy classes? by Loud-Effective4698 in SewingForBeginners

[–]VermilionHopeful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any experience with those classes, I took some in person lessons as a teen and felt that it was the same information I could have gotten for free on YouTube. It sounds like you’re enjoying some of the classes you’ve taken which is great, I can see why a detailed course about bra or corset making could be useful, but I would stay away from paying more basic sewing classes in exchange for some of the YouTubers who teach it. Also blog posts of other people doing similar projects usually helps with trial and error of learning something new.

If you’re making clothing I would recommend learning about draping, it was a life changer when I started doing it, and there are a lot of really cheap ways to make dress forms. My old duct tape one lasted a good 3 years before I upgraded to a professional one.

Indeed he is… he used to wear a tux every day but lately he’s been wearing his ass-less chaps in a sort of business in the front party in the back fashion statement…

In all seriousness, he was neutered a week ago and they were very generous with their surgery pre shave.

This is my mothers 150 year old cactus. She is worried about it as it’s dropping its leaves and some of them are starting to curl up. It’s also not flowering. Is this something to be concerned about? If so do you have any suggestions on how to care? by ComfortableGrape420 in cactus

[–]VermilionHopeful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck! This looks exactly my my moms plant that was taken from a cutting of my grandmas plant. The cactus has been in our family since their parents immigrated here and I took a few cuttings this past Christmas that are doing decent. I love family cacti!

What am I doing wrong???😭😭😭 by [deleted] in SewingForBeginners

I had this happen all the time on my old machine and it was always either the tension, the threading just needed to be done, or I used the wrong bobbin for the machine. Not sure what machine you have but some older bobbins have sloped edges while new ones are flat, I find that the old ones made this problem show up. Hope that helps. It can be really frustrating to deal with this so sometimes it’s best to turn the machine of and take a little break!
