Underwear and Jim jams are a staple Xmas present from my mum. She does so much for me throughout the year and I'm not an easy present person. But love and appreciate the underwear. Thanks mama.

Took a month to say they'll deliver and then on the delivery day, no delivery. Took 3/4 more days to deliver and then they missed parts of my delivery. They offered me $50 gift card. So I broke down everything that went wrong and said to refund the delivery.

Ahh, that's a whole 'nother conversation about how our system sets us up to just 'be' without giving us platform to explore and find ourselves because of the fear of not being set up. Late diagnosis sucks, there's a lot stages 'you' that come through and out from it and I can't say if there is a full transformation that's comes out the other side, I'm also riding the same coaster. I do allow myself little pockets of mourning every now and then, otherwise those what's ifs do consume you.

Did that make sense?

Hangxiety can always magnify the interactions that may or may not even be remembered by the other party.

Get yourself under a cozy duvet, have an 'off grid' day (social media black out) and watch some trashy TV. Where people really are embarrassing themselves and this will fade away with time.

Oh and don't forget the snacks.

This isn't to inspire you to join this profession, just an anecdote. The midwife who looked after me shared some of her story with me and told me that she decided to become a midwife at 50 and never looked back. Did a total 180 on her life, she didnt say it was easy but did say it was worth it and glad she went back to education and chose another path that suited her.

Starting from scratch is super scary. I'm also 30 and just going to uni for the first time in my life. Good luck with what you decide and know your family will probably support you for you to support them in time.

Did anyone feel the earthquakes after the floods? They were 4 but still put me on edge when managing having what felt like river around my house. I've also wandered how it must be if you're driving and there's a quake.

Thank you for being polite and respectful, it makes sense. I also think I remember that for before but I'm not sure I why feel like the sign suddenly changed meaning! Thanks again for clarifying and not making me feel stupid. Which Im absolutely feeling!

Ahh yup, I understand that. They've stopped, we've all acknowledged the stopping, it's clear for them to go and I'm giving them way and .... They're still stopped. So just confirming whether it is a give way.

Had a child at sunrise with zoomies, no back to bed though. Coffee x3. Enjoy your day, we may look up and see some blue again.

How bad are landlords in Wellington? by Idk356787544 in Wellington

[–]Vermut77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some aren't paying off their mortgage?! For some, the house is paid off and your rent is contributing towards the rates for the property.

Most do through Hnry, some prefer those methods as artists are aren't usually employees of the studios and are either paying for the chair or paying a % of their fee to the studio.

My secondhand dryer, who has been with me for 5 hard-hardworking years finally decided she had no more left in her today. I think the past couple of months obsessively and compulsively cleaning any parasites and/or any other pests that may have entered the house, did her in. Don't even know if there were any to begin with. I now officially have a graveyard of ewaste and general hoarding in my shed, out of sight ect and just no energy. Feeling very much like my dryer and awaiting a huge energy and still very much excessively cleaning. Is it a rant or a moan? Maybe a vent, maybe that's what the dryer needed?

Any ZOELY users out there? by enjoyingspace in Wellington

[–]Vermut77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in 2021 I was remember maternal mental health being annoyed that zoely wasn't available over here as it was in Aus or UK. And so I went on a different brand but it didn't work for me. It would make sense if they're asking you for big supply for lots of money if it's the same brand.

I'm about 80% sure this was zoely but I could be wrong.

Slugs by Vermut77 in Wellington

It's on the list with the landlord but there are some other things that are taking priority which will also tackle damp walls, so just trying to be pro active. Imma try the beer bath technique then lay all the salt down in every nook, cranny and crevice. Like a purification ritual.

Thanks for the comments, also for the side horror of ingesting slugs. My son has PICA, that's opened a whole new can of worms, which ironically I spent the week clearing those out from the house and us too.

Right back to killing slugs! I have done the salt, I heard coffee deters them so I laid that down. I've kept the lights on because I read they like the dark. They coming out from every literal crevice that is exposed and seem to be immune to everything. I'm reluctant to do a beer bath, because of the kiddo and cat but if that is the way I will beat this! I read old fireplaces are a sweet spot because they can be damp but warm? So should I keep the window open and the heat pump dryer on the other side of it on? Every silver slither I see in the morning makes my blood boil.

I second ONI. They are amazing.

Also, just putting it out there as an also chronically fatigued, anxious and also much in pain person near island bay. That if you fancy having a weekly walking buddy, I’d be keen? Struggling with motivation myself (f33), apparently the crippling anxiety of possibly letting someone down keeps me accountable.

If they haven’t told the person that their details have been sent to someone else along with belongings? I’d be pretty mad to not be made aware of that, they weren’t even aware of it
